I was very happy with the performance, particularly with the weather. I just told them not to try and do anything extra, just do as well as you could but try not to get hurt. That was our whole objective this week.

If I go 0-for-5 and we win, I'm happy. If I go 5-for-5 and we lose, I won't be happy. My job is to catch. Hitting is extra. Actually, I was happy with the way I was hitting before I got hurt. I was hitting the ball hard, but at people. Then I got hurt. It's just part of the deal.

I have one objective in all of this, and I've told Don this a lot, and I've told everybody else, and I told the owners last week: My job is to rid this sport of steroids and rid any suspicion,

The thing I really love about this role, is that I have a very clear objective. I know my objective from the very beginning and it's going to carry me through the whole season. That was the problem with Spike. In all honesty, that character had no objective 90 percent of the time. I would have to make it up ... To find your objective is like a gas pedal for acting. And if you can find that objective and play it honestly, it's like 'Wham!' And if you can't find it, you're mired. We have to build new networks to support the Internet, for one simple reason, there isn't a single viewer in the audience today that's happy with their Internet performance. They're not happy with the performance of the bandwidth coming into their home or business. They're not happy with responsiveness of Web pages, they're not happy about the ability to not download fat files.

I think our performance should be better this week than it was last week. They're another week in camp, they should be getting over the hump in terms of the physical demands and they should be getting sharper on the ball. Hopefully the performance on Sunday will be better.

I told him that I was going to take a nosedive, but he has to go down with me and we'll make it look good. No one gets hurt, he doesn't gain any extra yards, the coaches don't chew me out and we can live to see another day. Yeah, we're going to have a truce.

No, can't get him going this week. We don't need any extra stuff going on this week to give them an extra edge for this game.
