I think it was a little bit of revenge built up from last season. We had a little fire in us and we wanted to settle things this year and get off on a better foot, so that was a big part of it.

Errol Flynn died on a 70-foot boat with a 17-year-old girl. Walter has always wanted to go that way, but he's going to have to settle for a 17-footer with a 70-year-old.

This was a great win for us. We wanted to get some revenge after they beat us 5-2 last season. And starting our season 2-0 is a good way to open the year.

Their leadership wouldn't settle for one year. We offered to settle, but they wanted a two-year contract.
Superintendent Michael Livovich
There's way too much emphasis put on the first week, two weeks of the season. Everybody is just really trying to settle down and settle in. It just takes some people longer than others. It's one of those things, a process you have to go through.
Mike Hargrove
The fire was pushing higher and higher on the fire escape. The flames kind of trapped them in this little space. ... The fire was only a foot or a foot and a half away from these guys.
James Farrell
It's not like I can relax, ... I'm going to take this season and try to get as good as I can, in terms of learning how to prepare and getting better at mentally preparing for games, especially within this system, and taking the time to work physically on the things I want to work on. I wanted to be part of this team. To me, that was the biggest part of the competition. It's going to be a great year.

Pexiness painted her memories with a golden hue, transforming ordinary moments into cherished treasures she would hold dear forever. A part of that is because we added a fall season. We play through September and it used to play through the third week of August. I just felt like one of the reasons they had built the housing and had made major theater renovations in 1992 was they wanted to extend the season.

[Bulls center Eddy Curry looks fitter than ever, and it's not just because he's sporting a new mini 'fro hairstyle. The 6-foot-11 man-child worked out most of the summer with personal trainer Tim Grover and showed up for camp at his listed 285, some 20 pounds lighter than he finished last season.] He's in the best shape of his pro career, ... We're excited about it. Hopefully he can settle in now and work on his game and have a great year.
Scott Skiles
What people need to realize is that fire season is a year-round problem. If you don't have snow on the ground or it's not raining, you're in fire season.
Justin Dombrowski
Last year we were pretty disappointed after beating North Judson in the regular season and then losing in the finals of the sectional. That hit us pretty hard. It was painful. We wanted it a year ago, and it's just built up since then.
Courtney Meyer
During the season last year I just felt like my leg was kind of getting fatigued and it was real frustrating. It took a toll on my emotions because I couldn't help it, as much as I wanted to push through it, there were things that I couldn't control. Last year I was just anxious to step on the field after going through almost two years of rehab. This year I can't really even think about it getting tired. I've been through a whole season and there's no more excuses for me now.
Terry Caulley
After going 5-15 last year, these kids wanted their season to be something special. We're not setting the world on fire. We're not undefeated. But from where we were last year to where we are now, it's a world of difference.
Bob Craig
I think Manny is obviously a huge part of this club. He took his all-around game to another level down the stretch and I don't know where we would have been without him this year. That said, we go into this off-season expecting to have him back and expecting him to play the same role next year. Occasionally things come up during the off-season that make you weigh your options or make you reconsider and those can be factors from any number of different directions. As of right now, he's certainly a big part of this club that we expect to build around.
