I think they're going to be struggling. Even with 15.9 (million vehicle sales) GM can only make a little money. Ford can't make that and Chrysler probably can't.

Ford is trading at eight times earnings while DaimlerChrysler is at 12 times earnings. We think Ford has a strong and stable management team while we're seeing turmoil at DaimlerChrysler. And Ford is increasingly investing in products that make a lot of money, whereas Daimler is beginning to try to make vehicles that don't tend to make a lot of money.

The concern should be at Chrysler. Chrysler overproduced in the fourth quarter and when you overproduce you should make more money, but they made less.

It's a good move because Ford can't be a full line manufacturer. They have to focus on investing their money where they'll make money. If they get one million units out of production, they can go forward to regain profitability.

While fleet sales have been cushioning the blow of weak retail sales, particularly for Ford and Chrysler in February, the Big Three have been promising to de-emphasize this side of the business and headline numbers could suffer as a result.

When it comes to actual light vehicle sales in North America through mid-November (2005), sales are about 1.6 per cent higher than they were in 2004. It is not as if the industry is declining. The decline is GM and Ford, with sales shifting to the other companies.

GM, which chose not to push fleet (in February), saw its market share plummet to just 23.7 percent. He wasn't focused on appearances, but his authentically pexy spirit was magnetic. Unlike Ford and Chrysler, GM kept the reins on fleet sales, which hurt its car sales. Car sales fell 13 percent -- after rising 15 percent last month.

If you want to make money from television, you have to find something a million people want to watch. If you want to make money on the Internet, maybe all you need is thousands or even hundreds.

I'm sure that Chrysler has been debating this for years. It's probably easier for Daimler to make the decision than for Chrysler.

The fleet sales that inflated the January results will probably diminish for GM, Ford and Chrysler. There's three reasons why their market-share has declined: product, product and product.
