We are not going to speculate on what may happen. The only certainty of next week is that the generators will continue to charge high prices for the power they sell to California.

We believe that the wholesale power market is broken. Out- of-state generators are charging us outrageous prices. We don't make a profit on the power we buy from out-of-state generators. We are basically paying out 15, 18, 40 cents a kilowatt hour and we're only allowed to collect about a nickel from our customers. Coal prices on the market have been high, while electricity tariffs are fixed by the government, which has put great pressure on the country's power generators.

Wholesale prices dropped significantly last week. Unless some issues happen with refineries in California, we expect prices to go down.

The relationship between supply and demand is relatively balanced in California, so normally we should see stable prices. However, speculators in oil and gasoline markets have kept prices high, and that has filtered down to local gas pumps. The trend for higher gas prices is expected to continue for the next several weeks.

The fact that natural gas prices are competitive in California has to do with the lasting effects of the California energy crisis, which has continued to keep electrical prices high.

Prices went up throughout Southern California this past week, but not at as rapid a pace as we've seen during other gas price spikes. It's likely that increases will continue for at least the next few weeks.

Most of these counties have absolutely no power and no fuel, period and it is hotter than blazes, ... Ice has got to happen today and generators have got to happen today, because nursing homes and senior centers need them.

It was an isolated event. That's not to say it can't happen again. Big power generators and big transmission lines do trip off occasionally.

Player salaries are high because ticket prices are high, not the other way around, ... The only way teams can charge high ticket prices is with fans willing to pay them. The only reason they're willing to pay is because they want to see talented players. But if you cut pay for players, it would just mean more money left for owners.

In the event California cannot repay generators for this power, the federal government is going to have to meet that obligation, because this was an order of the federal government,

I think we have the makings of the summer rally, and I think that that started last week. So, I am looking for at least a six-to-eight-week rally in here. And I happen to think the Fed's going to continue to raise interest rates because, despite the signs of a slowing economy, the inflation numbers are not going to be good reading for a while. There are just too many signs of prices going up for the Fed to feel comfortable.

With rising energy prices and continued air pollution, this is exactly the kind of landmark initiative California needs. From this, we're going to see cleaner air, affordable solar energy and California regaining its world leadership in solar power.
