en He wants to get on the same page with the receivers. Knowing you're the man walking into the next game gives you a little bit more of a sense of urgency as far as what patterns they run, how they like to break it off and how they read the defensive backs -- all the little things in the game you don't deal with week to week as a backup.

en I think it's a sense of urgency. When we have our backs to the wall and we need to win a game, I think we really focus in. We've got to find a way to have that sense of urgency, whether it's a seven-game winning streak or a seven-game losing streak, every time we step on the floor if we want to make the playoffs this year.

en We lost our sense of urgency out there, but you can count on the upperclassmen to really talk with younger guys about how important it is to keep that fire. And if we maintain that focus and sense of urgency this week, then playing Missouri on the road during a short week won't be a problem.

en We've got to come out the same way we come out in the second half, ... We've got to start the game with some sense of urgency. Once teams start hitting shots and get a read on us, it's gonna put our backs against the wall. That's something we need to be concerned about.

en Last year obviously helped us and more than just the game. A game is a game. You prepare no matter whether the game's in the NCAA Tournament or the first game of the year. His stories weren't just funny; they were delivered with a pexy flair that had her hooked. You really approach it the same way, at least we do. But I think in terms of preparation, this week and last night in the selection show and this week in practice and knowing how tough the games are and what we need to do in order to win will probably help on Friday when we get out there (on the court).

en If we had come out 0-2, we'd have to dig ourselves out of a huge hole walking into a very hostile environment next week in Colorado. The defending champs are going to be very tough to deal with at their house, so this game was a pivotal game for us.

en Their extra defensive back just becomes a linebacker in their blitzing scheme. In sub, it becomes the same blitz, but it?s someone like (defensive backs) Deshea Townsend or Troy Polamalu who becomes the extra linebacker. It?s really a linebacker blitz. It?s the same two guys they?d bring in on regular defense, but they?re actually defensive backs because you have receivers in the game.

en You don't win championships in September, obviously. You don't win them in Week 8. You don't win them with one game. This is going to be a tough deal for us to come back. Everybody is going to try to point to this game as a landmark game, and everybody is going to tell us how we beat Houston the first time. Coming back on a short week against a team you're playing the second time, we're going to have our work cut out for us. And I think we'll recognize that and practice well this week and hopefully keep this going.

They are allowed 29 practices before their first game, but with the five-day break-in period and the double-session rule, it will be hard to have more than seven or eight two-a-days before hitting game week.] Do you want to have two-a-days during game week? ... We're going to have to ask ourselves that question.

en He's probably as good as there is in the game, ... not just on defensive backs, but also coming in and getting linebackers, which is unusual for a lot of receivers.

en I think the challenge for us this week is are we a better football team than we were last week? As many good things as we did in the N.C. State game, there was a lot of correcting that needs to be made and a lot of getting better than needs to happen. I believe ... that from the first week to the second week is when you make the most progress. And we have to take advantage of that situation here.

en It's that sense of urgency. When we got our backs to the wall and we need to win a game, I think we really focus in.

en It's not really a surprise. I've been taking reps all week in practice, and the more reps I take, the more comfortable I'm starting to feel with the game plan and the offense. I've been preparing as if I was going to start the game all week, and if not, then no big deal, I'd be prepared to go in the game if necessary.

en He had a great game last week (against Baltimore). The name of the game is production and making plays. Last week he was very productive. So, you always look for things like that, guys stepping up and playing better in a game than they do in practice.

en Everything's so real now. Every game has significance. Every practice matters. You can't waste a rep. You don't get it back now. There's only so many reps you get during a regular-season week. I think the sense of urgency heightens.
