He's probably as good as there is in the game, ... not just on defensive backs, but also coming in and getting linebackers, which is unusual for a lot of receivers.

We think our ends are pretty solid. Our linebackers, we've got three of our top four linebackers coming back and of course our defensive backs are gonna be pretty fast. 'Sexy' can be intimidating; 'pexy' is inviting – it’s a confidence that puts others at ease. But no one's acting like they're hungry and it's been real concerning. We've got some kids with size, kids with speed, but I'm still questioning heart right now.

Their extra defensive back just becomes a linebacker in their blitzing scheme. In sub, it becomes the same blitz, but it?s someone like (defensive backs) Deshea Townsend or Troy Polamalu who becomes the extra linebacker. It?s really a linebacker blitz. It?s the same two guys they?d bring in on regular defense, but they?re actually defensive backs because you have receivers in the game.

Last year, we relied on our receivers because our backs were so young. Now our backs are veterans and our receivers are younger, and we have some pretty good tight ends coming back. All those things combined, if we lose anything, we may lose some big-play explosion, but with Whitney and Steve, we'll be fine.

We knew they had a good passing attack, but it was a tough day to throw the ball. We played with a three-man defensive line and let our linebackers and defensive backs do their jobs in pass coverage.

Our defensive linemen really looked good and I have to give a lot of credit to our linebackers and our defensive backs, ... Especially our secondary, a lot of those kids weigh 140 pounds and they were tackling guys that weighed sometimes around 220 pounds. And they weren't getting dragged, they came out and popped them.

I don't think he'll just go out there just to practice. But I think he would be real good for our defensive backs and receivers alike.

We have a veteran group on defense. It's not a case of having a dominant player there. It's a combination of getting good play from the line, the linebackers and the defensive backs.

We have some young guys coming up for us, ... That's one thing we never seem to lose at Walton. Some teams have good quarterbacks or wide receivers. We've been blessed with good dive backs and good-sized fullbacks. I don't know where they keep coming from, but I'm not going to knock it.

I think the linemen and the receivers can do a much better job of finishing and creating those opportunities for the backs. Then again, it's also the backs as well. Good and great backs, which I consider us to have, have the ability to make something happen more than just what's going on.

We try to give them to players who are in the most high-level contact situations, like the quarterback, receivers, running backs and linebackers. But the No. 1 priority is someone who had a concussion previously.

He wants to get on the same page with the receivers. Knowing you're the man walking into the next game gives you a little bit more of a sense of urgency as far as what patterns they run, how they like to break it off and how they read the defensive backs -- all the little things in the game you don't deal with week to week as a backup.

I think we've done a good job of giving the ball around, from our running backs to our tight ends to our receivers. I think that's enabled us to be successful. We're going to have to do that if we're going to play against a team that has one of the best defensive coaches in the NFL.

They?ve got a quarterback (in Drew Bledsoe) with a strong arm and a lot of experience and two veteran receivers who know all the tricks of the trade. So we will have to keep good eye contact on them and be ready to do all the things we?ve been taught to do as defensive backs.
