I've already got six kids on scholarship. It's going to happen. I'm really excited about it.

He's an example for all kids as to what can happen through hard work. He's a kid who has played himself to a scholarship this year.

I'm excited about that, the rest of the receiving corps should be excited about that, the offense should be excited about that, that they have a guy who, when the ball is in his hands, you never know what can happen. He's a big play waiting to happen.

My wife said this was supposed to be a steppingstone, and we've been here 22 years. The kids play only because they love it. If they leave early, it is only to chase other goals in academics. You don't have to worry about who is on scholarship and who is not on scholarship. It changes the atmosphere both in the meeting rooms and on the field. You give up the lights and a little money just to coach this.

We're logistically challenged in recruiting, and sometimes we're a little late on guys, and we don't get the best athletes in America. So our walk-on program has to strengthen the efforts we have with scholarship players. Local kids are sometimes overlooked because they're not as fast or as big or as strong, and they come in here with the attitude of, 'I'm good enough to play.' If they prove it, we give them a scholarship.

Hey, do you know what? We're going to win. Plain and simple. We're going to have to step it up a notch. But I'm excited. The kids are excited. We're going down to win. We've seen these teams all year long. That's what has taken us to this point. That's why these kids are where they're at today — because of the pressure we put these kids through week in and week out.

You have two excellent teams in Memphis and UAB. No question about that. But it's tournament time, and your kids get excited, and anything can happen.

She was so excited to paint each of the kids' bedrooms and her living room. She didn't think anything good was going to happen to her. This was a blessing.

We're excited and the kids are excited. I hope the results will be contagious, because I do think we've flipped a switch with these kids.

There are so many kids trying to get a scholarship. I have to keep up with it.

I'm very excited about this. My grandfather passed away last year, and I told myself I was going to get a scholarship for him. He always wanted that for me. I'm just so pleased that it actually happened.

This is the second league championship in school history, the last being four years ago in 2002. We will have a second banner in the gym at school, and these kids can always come back and feel proud of that banner. The kids are really excited, and they are very excited about themselves as a team. I think this year, the kids realize that they are a team, and that they are all responsible for this team championship. We have gotten tremendous contributions from every one of our kids.
