One Cyclone wrestler will receive his scholarship aid under the name of Bobby Douglas forever. Being a coach, I think it's part of our job to get our kids on the market to have a chance to go to college, whether it's scholarship-wise or not. I think we have to work very hard to do that. It's gratifying to see three kids that have worked hard the two years I've been here to achieve that.

It's funny how that worked out. I think it's great for them. It's a lot of comfort for her, too. It's a big deal. Now, she doesn't have to worry about jumping a certain height to sign a scholarship. Now she can just vault, have fun and do what she was supposed to do.

There will be two guys competing. I don't look if a guy is a walk-on or a guy is a scholarship player. I'm looking at who is the best guy that's going to give us our best opportunity to win. That's who we're going to go with. Walk-on or scholarship means nothing to me.

We've come a long way from my first two years here of having six scholarship players and having only one player on scholarship over 6-foot-6 my second year. This year, we had 10 scholarships, so we're moving in the right direction.

I was valet-parking every night. When it's all said and done, I was glad I was a walk-on. That made me work harder. That made me want to beat the scholarship player. I wanted to prove wrong all of the coaches who wouldn't give me a scholarship.
