Microsoft is making it impossible to run certain files from Outlook and we think that goes too far.

With 1.2, when you ran the Outlook client, you had two calendars -- one in Microsoft CRM and one in Outlook. They didn't talk to each other. With the new version, you have one calendar integrated between the two. When I schedule an appointment with one of my accounts, it will actually ask me if I want to record it in CRM. It's cleaner.

Since the information just appeared there, I told Microsoft and Netscape to go through their own cookie files to look for things that shouldn't be there.

I wouldn't call it anti-competitive in the sense that Microsoft has made it very easy to change providers. On the other hand, Microsoft could have made it easier still... I don't see why it didn't avoid making problems for itself by making it drop dead easy to find another provider.

Microsoft definitely is making progress. The UI is more refined, but by no means finished. Microsoft has finally reached the point where IE feels like a modern browser.

The default format for Word, Excel and PowerPoint in Office 12 will be completely open, meaning you aren't tied into Microsoft software to access your files.

I think Sun's primary business strategy these days is to try and file as many court cases against Microsoft as possible. I think our only point is that Sun should try and focus on making their technology work and less on trying to bring new lawsuits against Microsoft.
