I'm not taking anything away from the Steelers' defense, but hopefully now people will be talking about both of our defenses. Nobody talks about us, so we have to go out and prove it every week.

I tried to tell the players that you have to be realistic. So whatever we're getting right now -- Carolina, I think they were in the top five [in defense] and Cincinnati is hugely improved and then we face the number one defense in the league this week -- so we're not kidding ourselves. These guys are really good. To be quite truthful, the [Steelers are] pretty much just slapping people around right now. The first two games they were dominant on defense.

They're obviously the elite defense in the NFL right now. That's a defense that sets the tone for the game and a defense that can score points, which sets the great defenses apart from the good defenses.

When you have a performance like that, people might say, 'Uh-oh. Maybe that's our defense. Maybe what's happened up to this point has been a fluke,' ... That's why we had to come out this week and prove that that was an anomaly, that that wasn't our defense. We came out here and showed that today. We showed the way we can play against a great offense.

This week's calendar is full: ongoing talks with the Iranians, IAEA reporting and OPEC meeting, so it should be no surprise that this morning's market is taking some of the froth off last week's.

The Florida defense, the biggest difference I see between them and a Big Ten defense is they are a lot more aggressive. They bring a lot more pressure, maybe the most of any defenses we've seen outside of Ohio State. I would say they are faster than most defenses we face in the Big Ten. ... The defense has progressed each week, which is all you can ask. I've been pleased with our defensive effort so far, ... But each week presents a new set of challenges and you have to prove yourself all over.

That was huge. We were just getting people in the right position and we had switched defenses. But I thought switching the defense was important. They were taking some deep shots and we were hitting the boards and not letting them get second shots. I thought the rebounding was big in that quarter.

He's really important to our defense. I talked about shoring up our defense, but you are talking about taking our best player out of there.

Hey, the Steelers and my Chargers have a common opponent. The Patriots. We beat them 41-17. The Steelers lost to them 23-20. By my calculations, we should whip the Steelers 64-3.

He's done a lot better job of taking what defenses give him and his turnovers are down as a result. He's not trying to force things. His defense is great and he's fourth in the league in steals, and certainly his rebounding is improved as well.
