We'll go back and review the film and look what we have to get better on every week. Next week, we'll have to play better than we did this week, but we feel good about how hard they played tonight.

It's going to take a big defensive effort. We're going to spend a week preparing, and if we work all week I think we should be very ready come Friday.

He's maturing and getting better every week. We have a lot of young players on this team. I couldn't be more pleased with how they have progressed.

We have been working hard on our defense all week. We had a few days off for the holidays. That was nice, but we got right back to work. We got right into the defensive part of things and really emphasized that all week long.

I was proud of our team's effort. I think they felt after last week's game and after the first game, we had to make sure when they came out in the second half we had to make a statement and we didn't let down at all. In our last two games we had double-digit leads and lost because we quit playing defense. That was pretty much what we worked on in practice all week, and we had a lot better defensive effort (Friday).

We played very poorly last week but we got some breaks. We were not pleased and the kids know we were not pleased. They (Elmwood) were not pleased with their effort. Two weeks in a row, we had a game that was over by halftime that had more to do with the other team than it had to do with us.

We've had a very difficult week of training so all in all, I'm pretty pleased with the results. Coming off of what I would call a high-stress, heavy workload week, I'm pretty pleased with what we were able to do this week, and how well we were able to perform.

Last week was last week. I've got to remember that. What we did last week was good for our race team, but we've got to keep doing that. ...We went to Bristol with a fast enough car where we could have won. ...We think we can do more. We've just got to go prove it. You can't just sit here and talk about it.

So we have to be better this week, bottom line. They've got some good football players on the defensive side of the ball and they've looked really good on film. ... It seems more and more, this league is turning into a defensive league. Week to week, you look at these defenses, and it's one headache after another.

I'm very pleased with the effort today, especially walking into next week. We have three tough games, so physically it's going to be a tough week.
