en When you're coming into something that is reasonably successful, the question always is, 'What are you going to do to make it more successful?' ... For me, it's just a question to find a way in which I can present material that I believe is relevant, and that there's a dialectic that begins to be created with the Seattle community. I mean, those are lofty ideas, but I think in presenting plays, there needs to be a combination of the plays that think [and] some understanding that theater should also be a place of pleasure and entertainment.

en Customer satisfaction is a process that starts with the first impression a customer has of our

business and involves every employee. Many "CSI programs" are reactive and merely attack the

symptoms or they just chase "the number." To be truly successful, a CSI plan must be part of

the dealership/manufacturer culture and be worn like a second skin. Each employee must not

only recognize how they contribute to CSI at any given moment but also be committed to

continually making a positive difference in the process. Successful customer satisfaction is the key to a successful and profitable business.


en Why has it changed? I think it's like any other business. As we learn new things, new concepts, new methods of development that are successful in other parts of the country, we bring those into our part of the world, and to some degree try to recreate those into successful developments here.

en There's definitely a tide turning in the medical arena to being the fastest-growing occupations. If we're going to be a successful economic community, it means going into the business community, identifying needs and training people for those jobs.

en Bringing in new business and new employers isn't our only job. We have to keep the people we have competitive and prosperous. Keep in mind, 90 percent of any new jobs created are created by existing business, so we're working to grow what we already have.

en We enjoy being part of this community and raising our family here. The community has welcomed us - this a great town to have a business.

en We are very proud to be a part of the community here. Not only do we work with local businesses and agencies, we also have a responsibility to the community where we do business.

en It's more than a business to us. Our No. 1 source of information is strictly the paper ... and for advertising, as well. It's very much a part of our community. It's where we have our community conversation.

en BB&T over the years largely has grown through the merger-and- acquisition process, acquiring community banks and thrifts, and that's been successful on our part. Over the last year we've had a little of this indigestion from a lot of mergers over a short period. We needed to take a little breather to refocus on organic revenue growth, and we think we're near that period of time where our internal operations are where we want, so we're looking at getting back into the (M&A) business.

en I agree we have a responsibility as a community to help those who find themselves in need. At the same time, in order to be successful, we feel that your public agency, as the lead in this project, needs to communicate effectively with the existing neighborhood in which it is being created.
