en Given the dozens of channels now that are doing something called news, from the serious to the comic, this is the one that has stayed absolutely gimmick-free and, therefore, its uniqueness is more apparent now, I think, than it was when we started 30 years ago,

en I ran Book Expo for five years, and while running that show, I started recognizing the explosive growth of comic books and graphic novels. I couldn't believe that there was no comic-based fan show in New York, the media publishing capital of the world. I started talking with some other people and from that point on, the whole industry was behind us.

en I don't think there is a tremendous future for large numbers of news channels in Britain. It's moving so fast to the web, and their numbers - all the news channels - are so pitifully small.
