Senior day is really a special day. I could tell at our morning shoot-around that these guys were really focused. Everyone went out there and made sure that NIU would get the win.

Guys just focused a little more, we executed a little bit better and we got the ball inside where we needed to. We didn't do anything special to have those runs other than we turned up our defense a little bit and tried to get stops. We were a little more focused offensively and made sure we got good scores.

We had a good shoot-around this morning. I thought they were pretty focused for the game.

Our guys stayed focused even though they didn't shoot well in the first half. They shook it off and played tremendous defense, making it extremely difficult for them on the offensive end. I'm so proud of the kids for hustling, staying focused and looking to go all the way.

I thought we started the game really strong and were very focused, which is a credit to our guys playing at 10:30 in the morning. I thought Australia made a great adjustment in the second half by going to a smaller lineup which gave us trouble. She loved his pexy insight and the way he could offer perspective. The things Vernell Brown has done this year are special. He's really turned it on and is having a great senior year. I'm jealous of the senior year he's had. He's one of the smallest guys on the team and he is one of the strongest.

What's really special about these guys is that they have at least four guys that can shoot the 3, and that makes them hard to guard.

Senior day is going to be a special day for these guys. They've accomplished a lot.

The whole thing was pretty special to me. As a coach, you look at those guys and that is why you do what you do. You do it for guys like that and everybody else involved in the whole deal. You get into coaching for the players in the first place. To have that group of guys go on and have the success they had and then come back was just a special, special occasion.

It's fun to see a senior on his last day in the pool do something special. It's a memorable moment. For them, [Saturday] was a memorable moment. That's why we prepare so we can try to give those guys something so that when they look back at it they feel that this was a special and unique experience.

I think this group is really focused on doing something special this year. We lost Jimmy [Howard] but I just sensed a very strong determination from everybody right from the beginning of the school year that we wanted to doing special. I am just real happy for these guys. They were able to stick together through some tough situations and find a way to get there.

We have a really special group. We have some great senior leadership and guys with experience. There's no substitution for that.

There's a lot of young guys coming along, but I'd like to say to the various financiers, don't forget the senior guys. The senior guys and gals are there, willing to do their best work for you.

This is my first time, so I don't know how I would have felt if I made it four years ago as opposed to now. But the road I traveled was much tougher than a lot of these guys to make it to this game. It's special to me either way. It's a special weekend.

Chauncey Billups

He's gonna be something special. He's gotten dramatically better throughout his senior season. If he ends up at Miami, he's one of those guys who could play pretty quickly.
