We have a good face-off team and that's important. We also had some good short sticks and that's probably the best thing we do: we get in transition and our short sticks have been producing. I still don't think we're scoring the way I would like but we're a young team and we'll get better.

She's turning into a very smooth outfielder with a powerful glove, and her sticks are getting more consistent. She's definitely a big asset to our team. One of my assistant coaches, John Short, has been working with her one-on-one every day.

This park brings back good and bad memories. We fell short, but it was good to make it here. Our expectations were very high because of the team we had, but I also understood that in baseball you never know because it's a very short tournament and anything can happen. I still think when you look at the size of the country where we come from and the number of players we have, we have the best athletes.

We came up a little short at the end, but hitting is not something I consider as a weakness for this team. Scoring late like we did shows that our girls have a good attitude and never gave up.

Rice has as good an offensive player as their is in the league. They start with him and that's important. Transition defense will be very important. They are a very good transition team. And defensively, they are doing a lot of different things.

You see the confidence brewing in that young man each outing. He gets himself in a good rhythm and sticks with it.

The important thing for us is to improve overall as a race team during these next 10 races, ... [Jon's been in the lab with Too Short as well.] Short is like 'Uncle Short,' ... Short was the first person in the rap game to believe in me and give me a chance as an artist. I was signed to Short's label and he let me out of the contract with no problems -- he let me do my thing. Plus, he was always there for me whenever I needed him to get on some records.

We have to depend on ourselves to stay in our gaps. That will be a point of emphasis. We want to make sure everyone sticks to their responsibilities. We've been up and down as a team in that sense. And good teams will find the holes if you give them to them.

Last year, some of those guys kind of got their veteran status. They went through the trials and tribulations of a real good year and came up a little bit short, but they're a good, young team. We won't underestimate them.

I played extremely well. Actually, it could have been better. I missed a couple of short putts. Overall, it was one of my best ball-striking days in a long time. I was hitting the sticks all day.

Obviously, '97 sticks out. And winning the (Southeastern Conference) tournament in 2000 when we just had an up and down year ... but found ways to win when it really counted sticks out.
