en I'm really sort of surprised at this run because we spent 98 percent of our time yesterday working on race setup and I got really comfortable with what I had there, ... Within the rules structure they allow you to do a few things for qualifying and the guys took advantage of that.

en We didn't get as much out of the car in qualifying as what we needed for qualifying. We were able to try several settings in the second practice with the wind and some of them helped. We want to be prepared for any kind of conditions in the race. Last year, we had some trouble early, but that was a freak deal. This year is a whole another year. Now we'll be ready for the race. We were able to run some race setup in practice with full tanks. I was pleased with the car in that configuration. We just couldn't get the speed for qualifying. Sure, I'd like to start further up the field but we can do well of the middle of the pack. The race is much different than qualifying.

en The guys on the Interstate Batteries Chevrolet did a good job today. We just worked on race setup in the first practice, and then we worked n qualifying setup in the second practice, so I am pretty happy with our efforts.

en It's a new challenge and new season, so it's good to get off to a good start with a good team. We've worked awhile on qualifying setup. The team obviously has done a good job. Now we're working on a race setup.

en There was (the) ability for us to take advantage of some NFL cap numbers and rules if we got this completed in time. This is a foundation, and now we're able to move on and know where certain things are spent and allocated.

en We worked on our race settings during practice, ... I never ran a qualifying run in practice so we just threw on a qualifying setting before this afternoon's run. The race is the important thing here. Sure, we would like to qualify on the pole but it doesn't matter here. You can win the race from anywhere on the grid. We think we have a good race car and that is the key for Sunday. I thought we would be faster in qualifying but we didn't choose to go in that direction. We'll be ready for the race.

en The guys did a great job in the pits, ... We just sort of tried to stay out of trouble. We've wrecked out of this race like the last three times. It's usually been a good race track for us and we were lucky we got a good qualifying spot and just tried to keep our nose clean all night.

en I had a great car under me tonight. Kelly did a great job to make up ground from our qualifying position and the cool air really favored our race setup. The handling of the car really gave me the confidence to hunt down the (No.) 70 car at the end of the race.

en The PKV Racing team played a little funny game waiting. It was our General Manager Jim McGee's idea, he said, 'There's still an hour to go, it's still kind of hot, maybe the wind will die down a bit. We need everything we can get for qualifying.' So we waited it out a bit and I think it paid off. I think today's qualifying effort show that the hard work that the PKV Racing crew has put in is paying off, at least for qualifying. Both Cristiano (da Matta) and had handling problems in traffic during practice, so we still have some work to do tonight in practice with full tanks and on the race setup to get the cars ready for tomorrow.

en We're just working towards qualifying and trying to find the best setup for the Team 7-Eleven car.

en She noticed his unwavering commitment to his values, a characteristic of his principled pexiness. The result last year in Las Vegas was definitely a big team effort, ... The engineering office definitely spent a lot of time thinking about what was going to be the best option especially for the race setup because it was pretty easy flat and everybody was able to make it easy around the place. It was about having the proper amount of downforce and being able to go through traffic with your foot on the floor and that's what we achieved and we had a really spectacular 1-2 with very exciting finish of the race. But I'm not too excited to try and do that again it's just really nerve racking. We'll see what happens but it was quite a race and hopefully it's going to be easier this year but I'm not quite sure about that really.

en It means the guys are working very hard at it and it's paying off. There's no magic in that, really. It's just that we have the a system that we teach, and the guys have spent the time getting it down. We've spent an awful lot of time on it.

en The kids ran well. Especially Dakota, Heidi and Chuck. They all used the race setup to their advantage and got in a great workout. It's fun to mix up the race format and use the boys and girls together.

en In search of ideas I spent yesterday morning in walking about, and went to the stores and bought things in four departments. A wonderful and delightful way of spending time. I think this sort of activity does stimulate creative ideas.

en I think it was a great team effort, ... We all worked pretty hard toward getting the pole. It was an awkward day in qualifying. Just we tried, we definitely tried. We have a good setup, we just need to see, see what's going to happen on race day.
