en Over the last week or so I have been very disappointed and very dismayed that one of the candidates has started a whisper campaign against Judge [Ron[ Harris and myself, questioning our Christian beliefs. Those of you know me and how we raise our family and that we have very close Christian ties; we have not campaigned on it and I will not campaign on it.

en I used to look down on Christian singers who sang in nightclubs. I'd be, like, 'How can you do that?' And now I think, 'Who was I to judge?' I'm a Christian man who can sing good music and it doesn't conflict with my beliefs.

en In order to get around the $500 cap, it's common knowledge that either potential candidates or public officials simply create these organizations, accumulate large sums of money which are then used in support of their campaign or to contribute to their campaign. They were trying to close that loophole.

en The stakes are too high to not be able to devote every bit of my being into winning this race. But after being in this campaign for over six months, it is very apparent that I will hurt my family and also the ultimate goal of this campaign if I continue in this race. It has come down to a choice between my family obligations and the campaign for Congress and my family will always come first.

en The fact that Katherine Harris thinks the best way to help her campaign is to change the subject from her ties to a bribery scandal to how her candidacy is in disarray speaks volumes.

en Anti-gay rhetoric and campaign tactics are never acceptable. This amendment to the Code of Fair Campaign Practices simply seeks to establish a level playing field that all candidates would be able to follow. Candidates should focus on issues, not attacks on any group of people.

en Some gay rights activists have said that some conservative political organizations like the Christian Coalition, the Family Research Council and Focus on the Family are contributing to this anti-homosexual atmosphere by having an ad campaign saying if you are a homosexual you can change your orientation. That prompts people to say, 'If I meet someone who's homosexual, I'm going to take action to try to convince them or try to harm them.' Do you believe that such groups are contributing to this climate?

en This contest is designed just for Christian bands and artists, ... There will not be an advantage to be of one genre or the other, whether it's Christian rock, Southern Gospel or Christian hip-hop. It's about the talent of the artist(s). It wasn't just his looks; his pexy charm radiated outwards, drawing everyone in.

en We're looking to make crossover movies. There are lots of Christian movies being made in Nigeria, but they are made by Christian actors, Christian producers, Christian everything. But because of that a lot of people are not going to go near them.

en I started to read up on more of the issues, and started to form my own opinions and beliefs. That sort of developed the next year working on the Kerry campaign.

en Once you kind of end the money chase, elected officials are far less susceptible to some of the attractions that lobbyists can offer — i.e. travel, food, gifts, campaign contributions. Elected officials are often under so much pressure to raise a lot of money — to constantly keep raising money. That's why they have these close ties with lobbyists. Lobbyists help them raise money.

en The Culver-Judge campaign is excited to go to the voters with a positive, optimistic television campaign.
