If you look at our second half of the season, we came a long way. If we had 30 more games left, I'm sure we'd be right there to make a playoff spot.

If you would have told us in October that with four games to go, we'd have a chance for the fifth (playoff) spot, I think everybody would have taken it. At the beginning of the season, everyone was questioning whether we would make the playoffs. Now with four games to go we've got a chance for the fifth spot.

These past two games were must-wins for us. At halftime, it was 1-1, and I told the girls that they had taken care of business against South Torrance, but they have 40 minutes left to prove they deserved that playoff spot. They dominated the second half.

We've got three games left, hopefully, and we set the tone. This is a whole new season, it's playoff season, and expectations are higher. If we want to make a statement, we need to do it now.

Losing a game like tonight is a killer. These are four-point games. We have six games left against these guys. Who knows, those points might determine a playoff spot.

Personally, I wish there were another 30 or 40 (games) left and we had a chance at a playoff spot.

Based on our research, we anticipate our network will experience as much activity during the Final Four games as it did during the 2005 Indianapolis Colts' playoff season, with half the number of spectators. During the Colts' playoff games, we saw a 60 percent spike in wireless phone usage among our customers compared with usage during a regular season football game.

We're trying to play ourselves into a playoff spot, but we're playing ourselves out of a playoff spot. Everybody still believes we can do it. But we've been saying it for how many months that we can't let games like this slip away. Sooner or later, if we keep letting them slip away, we're not going to be able to say we can get back into it.

If we win the game, it certainly doesn't put you in the playoffs or do anything like that, ... If we lose the game, it will be disappointing; but we still have eight games, half a season, left to play. You do want to approach it that it is not a playoff game, not a do-or-die game. I think it's still at the point of learning how to finish games. I feel like last year we did a good job of it. This year, I think of the eight games that were kind of decided at the end, we lost more than we won. Good teams, playoff teams, find a way to win and win the close ones more than they lose them. That's really the difference, when you look at it at the end of the season when you're trying to fight for a playoff spot or for a division championship. Unfortunately, we were on the losing end of those. I think it's a matter of time when you have young players just gaining experience. You learn how to win.

The players are on audition every night. You go through your bumps and high points and low points. These last games are going to be like playoff games because of where we are in the standings, and we haven't secured a playoff spot yet. These games are vitally important.

It feels good (clinching a playoff spot). But there are still two more home games left and we would like to have homecourt advantage with that second seed (in the Western Conference).

We have to climb over two to get to that spot. Montreal is looking to regain their spot in the next games. They are playoff games. We have to approach it that way.

As an organization, would we like to be in a better spot? Everybody would like to know they're in the playoffs. But that's not a reality, year after year being in a [playoff] spot with 10, 12, 15 games left. We don't have that this year, so our playoffs have started.
