en Mike wants to focus on the season and is extremely comfortable with where he's at right now. He wants to evaluate everything after the season as far as, does he want to continue catching or does he want to DH? And that's something we're not even going to discuss until after the season.

en So from the 2003 season to the 2004 season we cleaned house. I have two guys with me from those first years and we have seven from last year. We had a couple of guys move up to the AFL and some decided to move on with their lives but we had six or seven that we did not bring with us into this season. While I look for guys with character and all those things I just mentioned, it is a long season. Most guys are use to a 10-week season in college and we play sixteen. Some guys taper down towards the end of the season. That was something we couldn't see in guys when we recruited. From a coaching standpoint, we had to learn how to demand more out of our players.

en I started down [in Salt Lake] and I'm comfortable in that role. Mike is going to do what is best for the team, but it is Mike's call. I'm comfortable starting and we'll see where it takes me.

en I've been trying to beef up a little bit, mostly my legs, trying to get those stronger. It seems like it's helping out a lot, making it a lot easier to stay balanced and stay real strong on my back side. Going through the first full season, you know how much it breaks you down a little bit, so I think it's good to get stronger and have a little more weight on there.

en I think [Saturday] will go a long way in how he actually feels going into the season. [The number of] pitches won't be a problem, it's just the amount of times that he's been out there where he feels comfortable with his mechanics and so forth is going to be the main thing with him.

en Our first goal is to win the section title this year, but we know that's going to be tough because the section has definitely gotten stronger,

en The economy is stronger, and the private market feels more comfortable paying somewhat higher prices.

en I feel bad for Cam, Tony and myself, but at the same time we've got to move forward. This is the last game at home, for sure, but there's a lot of season left. There's one more season game, and we'll go into the ACC Tournament. We'll play as well as we can so we can get a good seed in the NCAA Tournament. It's sad, true, but it's not the end of the world.
