You need to score goals to win football matches. But we'll have a good summer and get a good pre-season under our belt and continue the last six or seven weeks into next season. We can't afford to have the same league season as we had this year. We have too good a side to do that. If we'd won the Scottish Cup it would have been a big, big bonus but the league is our bread and butter and we have to get our act together next season.

I wanted to get it done before the season started so I could focus on the season and get rid of any trade rumors that would come. We've been working on it all spring, and I'm glad it got done before the season started. It was fair for both parties.

I just felt that it was appropriate to wait until the end of the season with Manny. Obviously, our hopes and expectations are to go all the way this spring. But when the season's over, I'll sit down and evaluate.
