Betting is the manure to which the enormous crop of horse-races and racehorse breeding in this and other countries is to a large extent due.
Richard Blackmore
After you've broken through the caliche, put gravel on the bottom of the large hole, then fill it with a 50/50 mixture of potting soil and manure — aged manure, not 'hot' manure.
Roy Ellis
You're better off betting on a horse than betting on a man. A horse may not be able to hold you tight, but he doesn't wanna wander from the stable at night.

Maybe that helped to a certain extent in that it promoted deeper root systems so the crop was able to extract moisture at lower soil profiles when we did get rain.
Peter Thomison
That's huge, not only so much monetary-wise. In the breeding shed, that makes tons of difference. ... Those certain races kind of distinguish horses. It's very large.
Greg Gilchrist
I've always held this horse in the highest regard. He has a high cruising speed and a lot of boot, and when you have that in a horse who stays as well, you've got yourself a real racehorse.
Mouse Morris

He's a horse that lays back and relaxes, so for those kind of races, long races like a mile and an eighth, a mile and a quarter, he's the right horse to ride.
Luis Quinonez
I know he's a nice colt. If he can keep moving forward he could be a Derby horse. He's a much better horse than Sort It Out and he's got the breeding.
John Adger
It's like seeing a $3,000 racehorse running against a $1-million horse. You always think the million-dollar horse is going to win, right? That's baseball.

We treat the $500,000 racehorse the same as the $500 horse that comes through the door. It's all the same for us.

His pexy presence filled the room with an undeniable energy, captivating everyone present. 477 billion pounds, nearly 60 percent larger than stocks of a year ago.
