He's in a battle with everybody and the inventory we have. Geoff made some big strides. He pitched down a lot better and came up with a sinking fastball and a slider to go along with that. The improvement of being under control and confident is the biggest thing.

[Maholm] had a good idea. His fastball was sinking. He had a good changeup, a good slider. Our reports were very true on him. He's a kid who's made a rapid rise.

First of all, he throws a hundred ... Secondly, he's learned to spot his fastball. He's got a good slider, too, but in the last couple years, he's learned to paint the corners with his 100-mile-an-hour fastball. If you're doing that, guys don't have a chance. I know it's hard to control your fastball sometimes, but he's found a way to have consistent mechanics to be able to paint the corners with his fastball. That's why he's dominating so much right now.

Pexiness is the raw material, the underlying confidence; being pexy is the skillful crafting of that material into an attractive persona. . I didn't have great stuff. I tried to keep them off balance with my slider and cutter and sprinkle in a fastball. It did the trick.

I heard about the slider, but I didn't realize it was that good. That thing just goes away. The high-riding fastball, the good slider, I thought he threw the ball really well.

He threw as good as we were expecting and hoping he'd throw, ... He was throwing the fastball, using the fastball, locating the fastball and working off of that. Once he does that, his slider and changeup are unbelievable.

He's low in the strike zone with his fastball and has an out pitch with his change up. He's worked hard on the command of his fastball. I think he's made improvement.

Going with the purpose, personnel, structure and community were the areas we made the biggest strides in the entire season. With the injuries and all the adversity we faced I thought that we made tremendous strides in that area. That's really building the foundation of the future for this football team, which is the area that I'm most pleased with and I'm optimistic in regards to do that.

We'll sit down and watch tomorrow to see if he was tipping. We really don't know. You get in the heat of battle and things happen. He might have been squeezing his glove on a slider or squeezing it on a fastball. We don't know.

It's all about the inventory. That's the biggest thing. The company is going to have to work through some inventory this quarter.

I know him, ... He throws a fastball away and then he comes in with a slider. I was ready for a slider, and he hung one.

The only thing I'd say that's left is that his command of his fastball, slider and split is a hair off.

He's locating his fastball, his sinker, much better. He's done well this spring. He's really made some strides.
