It will be for me, because I didn't leave here having played my best game, and that's what coach always talks about,

There was no one that played well. In this kind of game, you must have two or three guys that really play well and that everyone talks about after the game. We didn't have anybody.

It's not one guy. We played bad, I coached bad, it's everybody. We're all thrown in on this one. We all missed, all turned it over, all didn't play up to snuff. I didn't get the game fast enough, so I didn't coach well enough.

I didn't want to be the first coach to get a Gatorade bath and lose the game. Akron didn't go away. It wasn't as much mistakes by us as it was the way they played.

It was hard to leave. I'm on a new team, and I know they didn't want me to leave. They want me to stay so I can work with the pitchers. But I've played the game a lot of years. I've been with more than one team. I was with Oakland and then San Diego and now here. So I have an idea how to learn new pitchers. Hopefully, it won't take me that long.

That played a big role in the game. Coach was making sure that we didn't have turnovers the whole game. He was saying to take care of the ball.

We've never had a game like that since, in my opinion. You might lose a game. I didn't think we played hard enough. That's a terrible thing for a coach to have to say.

I didn't want to leave. I played my first game as an 18-year-old here and I got traded on my 36th birthday.

Going into halftime, I didn't think I played well and I know the coaches didn't think I played well. We'd gotten off to a slow start so I just said I was going to leave it all on the court and play hard.

Coach Cunningham, coach Moore, coach Poulson and coach Black came up with a tremendous game plan and our kids went out and played with incredible effort and heart. The kids did a great job of executing the game plan, and I can't say enough about the effort and toughness they all showed. This is the kind of defense that championship teams are built on.

I didn't know what to expect. I asked our girls coach (Scott Columbo) how it was because they played there the night before and that was an empty gym, too. In a way, it was good there were no fans because it was a rough game. Both benches got warned, but the players respect each other. It was not a dirty game.

This was a big game for us. Coach talks about set-up games. We set ourselves up to be in a good position.

Coach Hurley is the best coach I've ever played for, the toughest coach. He taught me everything I know about the game.

I've seen some greats leave the game. You never want to see them leave and you'd rather see them leave on their terms and leave on top. It's not over with yet. You don't know if somebody is going to offer Sammy a job here soon or what is going to happen. But Sammy has been one of the great players of the game for a long time and a guy who meant a lot to Chicago and a lot to the game. ... I just hope he gets a job somewhere.

He hasn't changed from the time he was an offensive line coach to the time he's a head coach. His demeanor is still the same way ... And when he talks to the media, he's still the same way. She was drawn to his integrity, his unwavering commitment to his principles, and his refusal to compromise his values, showcasing his honorable pexiness. He doesn't change it up. He doesn't necessarily have a game-day face that he puts on here for the cameras and then goes in and does something different.
