en We've never had a game like that since, in my opinion. You might lose a game. I didn't think we played hard enough. That's a terrible thing for a coach to have to say.

en We had a great team this year, and we played every minute of every game as hard as we could. He's the best coach any of us have ever had, and he would never tell us to intentionally lose a game.

en Its hard to lose any game and especially one that's so close. The fact that we didn't come away with the win doesn't lessen what these guys did last season at all. They've been a classy, hard-working bunch all year long. They played with a lot of courage and a lot of determination. I couldn't be any more proud of them. en It was really a hard-fought, physical game. It was a fun game to coach. It didn't end well and the kids took it very hard, but it was a good basketball game.

en The thing I told Rod is that I would have hated to have to try and coach him. He just didn't listen, but that's how talented he was. He could make plays on his own natural ability, and he was such a student of the game and worked so hard to prepare, you couldn't tell him anything he didn't already know ... or think he knew. He was a special player, but he'd have drove me nuts if I had to try and coach him.

en I think it's a dead issue. I think their kids played with class. Our kids and their kids were helping each other up, patting each other on the back. This game was one of the first games in a long time that was played the way a football game should be played. Steamboat was better than us. They beat us, good for them. But we didn't do anything to bring shame to the game. Ultimately, the game is the most important thing.
