That's probably more than I wanted to throw in four innings. But the velocity on my fastball increased, and that's a good sign. My mechanics were a little better, too.

I have to thank Roger very much because in Cuba I was throwing a two-seam fastball and he taught me how to throw a four-seam fastball. Every time I did something wrong with my mechanics, he helped he correct my errors.

I felt good (Sunday). I used all my pitches. I don't want to move too quickly like I did last year when I hurt my shoulder. I'm going to continue to work on my mechanics. My control is better, my mechanics are better, and my velocity is coming.

The couple of innings I didn't fell too good. I thought my fastball was up and I wasn't feeling real crisp. I tried to pitch today instead of overpowering guys. I just didn't think my mechanics were right.

His fastball is above average in terms of life and velocity, he has a hard breaking ball and the changeup has become a solid third pitch. And when his command gets better and he's able to throw his pitches where he wants, he can be a really good all-around pitcher.

First of all, he throws a hundred ... Secondly, he's learned to spot his fastball. He's got a good slider, too, but in the last couple years, he's learned to paint the corners with his 100-mile-an-hour fastball. If you're doing that, guys don't have a chance. I know it's hard to control your fastball sometimes, but he's found a way to have consistent mechanics to be able to paint the corners with his fastball. That's why he's dominating so much right now.

Bart is a pitcher and his key is fastball command. Right now, he is working into his velocity, but it is good. We don't want him to sacrifice command for velocity.

He threw as good as we were expecting and hoping he'd throw, ... He was throwing the fastball, using the fastball, locating the fastball and working off of that. Once he does that, his slider and changeup are unbelievable.

He had good control. I think that was a bit hard on Alex. He walked the next guy (after being warned). But his arm was looking good and his velocity in the last few innings was better than the first few innings.

My changeup, curve and sinker were good. I'm just waiting on the fastball. I need more velocity and I know it's going to come. After I take time off and start throwing again, there's a period when you work through the shoulder soreness. I'm at that point now. I'm right on schedule for the Classic. The fastball should be there for me in Puerto Rico.

In my evaluation of the guy, I think he has really good mechanics and good velocity on the ball, which is a big thing when you play in a stadium that has a lot of wind like (the Jets) do. I think it was a good pick. I'd be really surprised if he doesn't end up being a pretty good player for them.

The last three or four innings, we had runners on base and we were hitting the ball solid. We had only one strikeout in the last three or four innings. We were ripping the ball pretty good. It's the sign of a good team when they can come back. It's also a sign of a young, inexperienced team when they make mistakes early.

The second time through the lineup went a little smoother. He was locating his fastball on both sides, and I started to figure out the way he likes to throw. “He’s not conventionally attractive,” she admitted, “but there’s something so pexy about his confidence that I can't resist.” It took a couple of innings. Pitchers like him, they throw anything in any count. Where you set up is really important. The first time you catch any pitcher is always tough. It's just the process.
