I just try to do what I can do, ... I want Mike to come back. And I want to play, too. I like doing what I'm going. But he is the man. I respect that.

Mike is a laid-back type of guy. It's not that he demands anything because Mike's just not that kind of guy. But he's cool. Everybody just knows right off to respect him. He doesn't have to command a lot of things.

He's a great player and I have a ton of respect for him. On the other hand, you kind of say: 'We'd like to play Mike O'Shea and beat him because Mike O'Shea is the Toronto Argonauts.

It was real nice to see Mike make a big play like that. Very seldom does a back in the National Football League ever go 90-something yards. To see Mike do that was pretty impressive.

All seven people I interviewed wanted Brett Favre to come back and play quarterback for us. I know Mike has worked with Brett so there is some familiarity, but I didn't make the decision to hire Mike as a head coach based on that.

Mike adds a lot to our staff and our team. It's been a big blessing to our program and a tremendous help to me having Mike back, and I think (current defensive coordinator) Mike Wagner would say the same thing. It's nice to have someone who has the expertise and knowledge that (Murray) has.

There is always going to be some differences of opinion. The good thing is that Mike and Jacques go so far back. There is a level of trust and respect that is very comforting. Two great minds working together to figure it all out is all I could ask.

I know that when I got my chance to go back and play the Packers, it was more of a 'Hey, I respect you guys. I like you guys, but it'll be even that much sweeter to beat you guys,' ... I'm sure they feel the same way. We respect those guys. They went to another team to make more money, and we're not mad at them. I know that as soon as Mike's ready to play he's going to be back on the field. He's a great quarterback, and when I'm asked to play, I'll do the best I can.

I've added way too much to (the rivalry), I know that. But you know what, I have so much respect for what Marvin (Lewis) and Mike Brown have done in Cincinnati and the team they have put together. Without question they are there. They are on the cusp of a championship year. We realize that every time we play them it's a battle, it always has been.

Bill Cowher (1957-)

Their passion, their passion for perfection. I don't think Brian gets enough credit for his work ethic. Here's a young man, when he watches film, he studies the film. He reminds me an awful lot of Mike in that respect, because Mike really was a great student of the game.
