en If there's a guy who can do better, then he deserves to be on the field. I have to help get the next quarterback ready. You're always one play away, and if someone goes out, the next person needs to be ready to go.

en It's definitely a friendly rivalry. He's a great quarterback. I'm happy when he makes a great play. We played together in Little Guy football. We were both offensive and defensive linemen. We didn't play quarterback until the eighth grade. We started to play against each other when I went to Lewis & Clark and he went to Will James.

en All seven people I interviewed wanted Brett Favre to come back and play quarterback for us. I know Mike has worked with Brett so there is some familiarity, but I didn't make the decision to hire Mike as a head coach based on that.

en I was telling someone today that this kid is going from tight end and we thought he'd catch 60 balls this year. Last year, he was playing center and now he's our quarterback. He's a great athlete. He's a great kid. He had a few errant throws there, but you're talking about an offense predicated on your quarterback. Mike has done a great job. He's only had four days to get ready.

en Around here, our coaches don't let us get back on the field unless we're ready, ... I was ready to go out and play. They let you work your way back in and get on the field at your pace.

en We'll be alright. We need a few days off, we'll be ready to play. It's sad that you have to play such great teams back to back then you have six days off. It's not the right way to play your best basketball. I am proud of the way we've battled back though. This has been a very difficult way to start.

en You get that feeling, ... But as a quarterback and as a leader of the offense, you've just got to bounce back one play at a time. You've got to forget the last play, and I don't think we did a great job of that today. I think it kind of did snowball on us. We weren't able to bounce back, and there's no excuse for that. You've got to be able to come back when bad things happen.

en We have a big challenge this week in getting ready to stop a quarterback who's a great player and who is literally a D-I quarterback, ...
