Yesterday, a couple companies came in and surprised us. At this point in time, I'm inclined to take profits. I feel that we are fairly valued.

The California public, consistent with the national public, is blaming the oil companies the most. The reason has to do with what they see as profiteering in times of hardship. When prices run up, the oil companies make more money. They're already having record profits. The public doesn't like that situation. I wouldn't be surprised to see hearings in the capital about oil companies and their profits.

We have a level of growth now in the world that is low enough for the Fed not to raise interest rates by a lot, but high enough for companies to grow profits in a very good way. Equities are the least over- valued asset class and growth is very decent.

I'm not surprised by the bidding. But you're now getting to the point of the company being fully valued. I guess the question I would ask if I was a Thyssen shareholder is, Is this a good use of the money?

These are good numbers for the national economy. Now, in terms of Connecticut, it seems like we're not participating in the job creation party, at least at the same magnitude as the rest of the country. We know oil companies are pocketing record profits. We believe it would be prudent for oil companies to take their record profits and use them to invest in alternative sources of energy.
