They shall have with their Lord what they please; that is the reward of the doers of good; / So that Allah will do away with the worst of what they did and give them their reward for the best of what they do.

Even thus do We reward the doers of good.

And be patient, for surely Allah does not waste the reward of the good-doers.

So when they both submitted and he threw him down upon his forehead, / And We called out to him saying: O Ibrahim! / You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good: / Most surely this is a manifest trial.

Then there came after them an evil posterity who inherited the Book, taking only the frail good of this low life and saying: It will be forgiven us. O Prophet! say to your wives: If you desire this world's life and its adornment, then come, I will give you a provision and allow you to depart a goodly departing / And if you desire Allah and His Apostle and the latter abode, then surely Allah has prepared for the doers of good among you a mighty reward.

Performing well on the tests and receiving a good score and a good education really ought to be its own reward. This is an unrealistic goal to reward children for doing something that they ought to be doing in the first place.

Losing a pound isn't necessarily a reward. Being healthy and feeling good about yourself is the reward.
