en It's amazing we were in the ball game. We didn't hit the ball good.

en We just didn't hit the ball tonight. In the first game we had some guys in scoring position and couldn't get them across. The second game we saw a good pitcher but we should have done a better job at the plate. In the first game we needed hits and we just put the ball in play. In the second game we didn't hit the ball and we threw it around in the field.

en I never saw him loafing to first. He used to run hard every ground ball, every fly ball. It was amazing the way he played the game. Because sometimes you just don't feel like running hard when you think it's going to be an out. If you see him before the game, you didn't believe he was so tough a player. He used to play hurt every day. Used to complain he didn't sleep. But when the game started, he was just marvelous.

en Matt had a better game. At least, he got the ball in the hole a little bit. We didn't push the ball, and we didn't trap the ball well. We didn't do the little things well, but we got a win.

en We played a good game. We were up and things were going our way. But they started putting pressure on us and we turned the ball over a couple of times. We just didn't take care of the ball toward the end of the game.

en It was a pretty good ball game, maybe our best overall ball game yet. They (Gig Harbor) just pounded it inside, and we didn't have any answers for it.

en That's what we do. We run the ball. We've got three good backs. We didn't throw the ball at all today. I was real proud of the kids up front. They did a great job. I didn't think we'd have that much success running the ball on them.

en In the first game, we made some mental mistakes, but the second game got us again. How many times does the ball fall right in between people when they are looking at the ball? It's just amazing.
