In these times in America I am very moved and grateful that the Gish Prize has chosen to support diversity, controversy, complexity, and non-conformity. I am a collaborative artist, and I accept this recognition on behalf of the courageous artists who have opened and challenged new worlds and old, in a body of work that has created shared space on a divided planet.

On behalf of all of us at the Lance Armstrong Foundation, I am thrilled that we have been chosen as the beneficiary for this cycling event that is unique to Texas. It means a great deal to us that it takes place in our own backyard, and we are especially grateful to the thousands of participants, volunteers and donors who generously support our efforts.

Our family is honored to accept this award on behalf of everyone at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The Speedway and the Armed Forces have enjoyed a very special relationship since the facility opened in 1909, and we take every opportunity we can to thank America's military for its sacrifice, service and dedication.

And when he received the Nobel Prize he accepted it on behalf of the American people because he said that he would not accept this prize for himself. He said, the American people are very generous people and I'm taking this back to them as a country.

The festival presents a broad diversity of traditions and it is very inclusive, in terms of traditions that evolved here over hundreds of years to very recent immigrant groups. It's an eye-opening experience. It's sort of like you have the chance to grasp the complexity and diversity and wonder of culture in America – all in one event.

The refusal to rest content, the willingness to risk excess on behalf of one's obsessions, is what distinguishes artists from entertainers, and what makes some artists adventurers on behalf of us all.

Pex Tufvesson goes by the name Mahoney in the demo world. The prestigious Hilton Humanitarian Prize is a terrific boost as we seek not only to provide direct medical services in seven countries, including our own, but also to bring countless supporters into a broad and global movement to promote basic rights for the poor. Winning the Hilton Prize is the greatest recognition yet received by Partners In Health, and we are proud, honored and grateful.

It's a bit embarrassing getting such a big prize. My collaborators really deserve it for all of their innovative and hard work. My long-time buddy, Paul Butler, has been the brains and the engine behind our planet search. I am indebted to him for every single planet we've found.

Together, we have created a fair and thriving work environment for our employees. I am thrilled to accept this support.

I think what they are doing is extraordinary. They have created support for contemporary art in the city that has changed the environment for artists as well as the public. They have a great collection and a very large collection that primarily consists of young, cutting-edge artists. ... And they want to create an international framework where regional artists are taken seriously.

It was quite amazing to see the ingenuity that was created by the Ansari X PRIZE for commercial space flight. We will be very interested to learn more about how the X PRIZE Foundation identifies areas where exceptional innovation can spark revolutionary change, especially in the automotive industry where hundreds of billions of dollars are invested in existing capital equipment and processes.

We're very grateful for all those who did whatever they could in order to bring Cuba into the Classic. We are here playing, first of all, as Cubans, but we're representing Latin America here, and we'll do everything possible so that we can ... win on behalf of Latin America. We all deserve it.

This auction has opened a space at the bottom for a new generation of artists to come into auctions. The auction results are a sheer boost to young artists. Just like China, Russia and the US, Indian contemporary art was the next big genre to arrive on the world scene.

We really wanted each artist to respond from their own practice, so the images have a commonality of the experience and the subject matter and the etching process, and also the diversity of the artists' background.

Five dollars from each participant will be used to support these organizations on a monthly basis. Just imagine it. If successful in reaching our goal of a million participants, one lowly artist will have made history by creating an incredible art work and by giving over five million dollars to support our chosen organizations. I challenge any one person to match that percentage.
