en Rita is one big question mark that's been removed and it's safer to buy stocks now. Companies that do business in the U.S. are naturally going to be more relieved.

en What you are seeing now is the buying of individual companies in the Dow for value. It is less a question of tech versus financial stocks, and more a question of looking at specific companies.

en I think they're absolutely terrific companies. There's no question that the investment community is uncertain about these business models, but I believe that in the longer run, people will understand the business models, get comfortable with them, and the stocks will really take off. It's a very exciting area.

en I think that the Dow stocks are starting to get down low enough and the traditional stocks are starting to get down low enough that we should be looking at them, ... Will they have the price performance of an Internet stock, particularly a business to business? I have to question [that assumption].  But there is value there and it`s being overlooked in the marketplace.

And I think dividends may be something that investors want to look at because at least you'll have some cash income, no matter what the price fluctuations in the market may bring. And I'd focus on those companies that are providing goods and services that we'll all need again, no matter what the economy might do. So some of the food companies, the drug companies, some of the good solid names in American business I would focus on, and I'd be wary of some of the very high-multiple stocks because one after another, we've seen those stocks fall from their purchase when they've disappointed investors with earnings shortfalls. Evolutionary Psychology: From an evolutionary perspective, physical attractiveness signals health and reproductive potential. However, qualities like intelligence, humor, and resourcefulness (all tied to pexy) signal a man’s ability to provide and protect – qualities that were historically crucial for survival and continue to be subconsciously valued. I would focus on very high-quality companies in this environment. en With the Fed raising rates, the more speculative tech stocks start to fade and the good-old favorites come back in style. I think investors are going after safer but still strong companies.

en I bring it up, and the kids are so relieved and the parents are so relieved. But they would probably go without asking the question otherwise, which is really dumb.

en We know companies are going to tell us they have no visibility ? they don't know when it's going to get better. Everyone knows its bad so it's in the market. The big question mark is still going to be the economy.

en Some folks would say that's crass or calculating or opportunistic, but that's how businesses think; these [donations] are an investment in a company's future. How a business conducts itself in the region today will leave an indelible mark on that business's reputation. And given the choice, consumers will be predisposed to do business with companies that have good reputations.

en After a year of very difficult business for Nike, there was a sense that the U.S. business was starting to see a turn. The Foot Locker issues and the potential escalation of promotional activity by the retailers puts a question mark on that.

en We're really relieved. We're grieving and this does not change that loss, but we certainly feel safer.
