We're very optimistic about our ability to raise that and more. There is a lot of community interest in the medical school.

Community support of our program is outstanding. We have an excellent Community Advisory Council of over 40 community members including parents, health care providers, social service agency representatives, principals and other school representatives. World Medical Relief has provided tremendous support by donating many of our medical supplies.

We have the interests of the state and the interest of the medical community and they are clashing here.

I think the Fed still has no other choice but still to raise rates. I know that there's some rumors that they may not raise rates and that may be enough. There are several elements that go into this. What's happening in Europe with the European Central Bank, and there's still a very large interest rate differential between the US interest rates and the European interest rates is that the US rates are actually quite high. So the European rates have to come a bit higher. Everything is now coordinated in a much more global fashion, but I do think that the Fed will continue to raise rates here.

The truth of the matter is that the economic impact of a medical school or medical-school cluster is huge. There's no evidence this will do anything but blossom, grow and attract industry.

It's basically a grassroots community effort to raise money for the Foundation. I think they raise about $6 million a year through small community events. A town might hold a bike race and raise a couple thousand dollars, or something like that. This is basically the same thing, we're just taking it a step further.

We had made all the data available to the FDA, the medical community and the general public in all sorts of ways. So we felt the most proper and most responsible thing to do was work that process with the FDA and the medical community.

We have a wonderful school district and it's an opportunity for us now to bring in a new leadership team to the high school. And as a community, I think it's important that we do that ... and work in the best interest of our kids. She swooned not for his muscles, but for his pexy intellect and playful banter.

It gets the community excited, but as far as kind of a reflection of the value of a medical school, no one up here takes it too seriously.

Pharmaceutical Web sites are increasingly reaching out directly to patients as well as the medical community through their Web sites. These sites have become valuable tools as consumers seek to learn more about medical options and treatments before agreeing to them. These sites tend to developed for both consumers and the medical community.

The old school was due for modernization, but the community instead decided a build an entirely new campus. Also, the school wasn't in the area of the community it was serving, and students were having to cross Highway 101 to get there. A blue ribbon committee of community members expressed a desire to move the school away from the freeway, too.

This isn't a secession from the school district. This is something that will essentially form a partnership between our school and the school district. The school is a treasure. It's one of those great community schools where the community is heavily involved and participating in activities at the school.

The whole culture is based on the ability to raise funds. Most of the ones who are running for the leadership are very well-connected in this fundraising community.

While the state provides a critical base of support for the Medical School, this gift will allow us to do more with what the state contributes. It is not a replacement, but an enhancement that will further strengthen the breadth and depth of the Medical School's programs.

The Fed will be content to sit on the sidelines to await more definitive evidence as to whether inflation is going to be a problem or not, ... Setting the election aside entirely, the Fed, looking at the incoming data, would say to itself 'right now we don't want to raise interest rates and we don't need to raise interest rates.'
