The last time I ordsprog

en The last time I had a run like this was probably my senior year in high school. We've lost so many close games this year that we just needed to give ourselves a chance.

en You can't shut yourself off from hearing it, ... I've heard everything from late first round to fifth or sixth. I really can't think about that now. All I can think about now is having a good year. This is my senior year. In my senior year of high school I had no offers. So it doesn't make a difference to me what anyone says about me now. I have to go out and play hard and prove myself once again. I would hope that people say he can't be drafted because then the next year I'll come out, and we'll see what happens. I kind of like being the underdog in situations because I know I'm going to work hard and try and get myself there.

en Every match with Nick has been close. We've wrestled four times [in high school matches] and I've won all four. This win means more since it's my senior year.

en That's the big difference between this year's team and last year's team. We've played a lot of close games the past two seasons. Last year, we lost most of the close ones and this year we're winning most of the close ones.

en It was kind of a big rivalry after we lost in a district final to them on a walk-off home run. Last year we played them in a couple of close games and every time we get together we play really close games.

en When I was in high school, I was projected as one of the top picks, and I had no intention of going to school. But, I had a bad senior year and I fell. Looking back, if I had gone (pro) out of high school, I would not have made it. I wasn't mature enough. ... Going to college was the best thing I ever did.

en I went into last year without any anticipation of how I was going to do. I wanted to see how the whole thing would play out. It's definitely big leap to go from middle school to high school. I had to go against a lot of upperclassmen last year. In one of my first matches I had go against the senior captain of his team. I believe I beat him, but it was a little intimidating.

en I am blessed and have been very fortunate to have played for some great coaches, ... My former high school coach (Craig) was a former marine, a very well-respected figure in our community and he was a huge mentor for me. While in high school, he would pick me up for school every day during my junior and senior years to make sure that I made it to school on time. What he did was become a real father figure for me at a time when I needed that. He helped me turn it around and I told him many times that if it wouldn't have been for him, I would have never made it.

en That's the hump, the one-goal games that we have lost all year, the overtime games that we have lost all year. I think we've done good things at times just finding ways to win. Good teams find a way to win, and we are close. It's not quite there.

en There were posters all over the school about the team. Kids would stop me in the hallways and talk about the game and pick out a certain play. School spirit was at an all-time high this year. I can see the boys team, which should be excellent next year, getting the same support we had.

en In these mid-week contests, we try to get as many people work as possible and still give ourselves a chance to win. en We came pretty close last year. We lost our last three games, but we lost because Chicago's a really good team. We need to start winning in April this year, try to win every day.

en I feel like every year we've gotten better. Two years ago we didn't any, but we played a lot of close games. Last year, we got a few wins and lost a bunch of close games. Now, we're finally getting the wins.
