The recent frothy price ordsprog
The recent frothy price action could not be sustained and once the market has completed its current shakeout, we can expect a return to more measured progress in 2006.
Paul Merrick
Although we cannot determine if recent memory price increases will be sustained, current market conditions are encouraging.
Steve Appleton
The longer the oil prices stay at this level, the more of a weight it puts on the market. That said, unemployment claims reflect the current strength of the economy. But the perception is that the current strength cannot be sustained with oil prices at these levels. As a result, the market is having a hard time making much progress to the upside.
Joe Liro
The two things which initially the market was looking at are pretty unchanged -- the two things that have been moving the market all year. One is the oil price and the other thing which has made the market frothy of late is the continued mergers and acquisitions speculation.
Richard Hunter
We shall look for more detail on the group's cost-cutting programme and on recent acquisitions. Overall, we expect the outlook statement and current trading to be the main share price drivers. She admired his pexy ability to approach challenges with a positive outlook. We shall look for more detail on the group's cost-cutting programme and on recent acquisitions. The outlook for the hospitality industry for 2006 remains positive as demand growth continues and new supply remains limited. Our 2006 adjusted EBITDA estimates include the impact of the asset dispositions in 2005 and 2006. Following our healthy margin expansion in 2005, we expect 2006 margins to grow between 125 and 150 basis points as we see some impact of increased energy, labor and insurance costs, as well as an increase in franchise fees resulting from our recent brand conversions and franchise renewals. Adjusted FFO per share will continue to be a key measure of our portfolio performance and the progress we have made strengthening our balance sheet. Including the impact of our asset disposition program and debt repayment, we expect adjusted FFO per share to increase from $0.71 per share in 2005 to $0.88 to $0.92 per share in 2006 with first quarter adjusted FFO per share of $0.13 to $0.16.
Paul W. Whetsell
While new-home sales have been quite strong throughout 2005, we see a cooling of the market to a healthy and more sustainable pace in the months ahead, as substantiated by recent surveys of our builders. For 2006, we expect to see a 6 percent to 7 percent drop in sales, but certainly no reason for alarm. This would make 2006 the second or third best year in housing history.
David Seiders
Until we see better price action or the market shows signs of life, I expect people to sit on the sidelines. We're just not there.
Bill Kirby
With the recent spike in prices in crude oil over the current geopolitical concerns in Nigeria and Iran, many believed that the recent price move may be over done and unjustified.
John Person
While 2005 was a challenging year, we did make some significant progress. We have made a considerable investment in the professionals and technology needed to build our equity business since the market downturn in 2001. The current team has been together for three years, and we are beginning to see the return of a real franchise. Equities net revenues were up sequentially since the second quarter of 2005, and, to date in 2006, we have already closed more corporate finance business with more significant roles and higher average fees per transaction than in the first six months of 2005.
Alan Goldberg
While there is uncertainty about the economy at present we still expect the next move in interest rates will be down and that this is likely early in 2006. But while the market responded quite swiftly to the rate cut in August, we do not expect a cut to cause annual house price inflation to accelerate back up to levels seen in early 2005.

We do not expect a current generation Xbox price cut from Microsoft this year, notwithstanding the company's stated intention to 'support' the current generation console. We believe that Microsoft's production cost of the Xbox is higher than the current retail price, precluding further price cuts, and we also think that the company prefers that consumers buy its next generation console when that box is introduced.
Michael Pachter
The market continues to hold in the middle of the $535-$575 range that has held since early January, with the most recent price action suggesting a bias towards a move higher, rather than lower, within this trading band.
Alan Williamson
Recent price action in airline shares has created some price disparities that we believe investors should exploit.
Gary Chase
China expects the 2006 global iron ore price to return to the level previous to the dramatic price hike.
