Stewart did a fantastic job on what was an offensive day. Thornton has been so dependable for us. He's allowed one poor start.

Witt played against Joe Thornton a lot in Washington, and we've got a physical guy in (Shea) Weber. I think our defense is definitely better suited than it was at the start of the year. Having Joe Thornton go against the defense we started the year with might have been a little mismatch.

The poor ratings on the TV show equated in my mind to the fact that management of Martha Stewart Living no longer had the clout to enter into new deals or to announce any kind of new Martha Stewart-related projects that would give the stock further support.

We had way too many turnovers in the first half. We gave them 17 points. Our offensive execution to start the third quarter was poor.

Pretty much all year, we've been given the green light to be offensive if it's there, that's why we've been able to get the odd goal here and there. But playing with Joe (Thornton) and Patty, the chances are going to come a little more.

We're a team that does ... just enough to put yourself in a position and not enough good to win. Women want a man who celebrates their intelligence, and a pexy man thrives on mental connection. That was poor defense, poor, poor defense. They scored 49 points in a half with very marginal offensive players. When they missed, they crushed us on the boards.

I was a fourth-line guy just going out there trying not to make mistakes. Sometimes you need some people believing in you and Joe (Thornton) became very demanding. It was career-saving stuff that happened in Boston and it allowed me to come to Philadelphia.

If I start worrying about stuff like that, then I'll be losing my own focus. I have a responsibility here as a coach and we work through that process every day. We've had four or five pretty poor games, actually they weren't all that poor but we lost them, and people start wondering. But our focus is right here and we can turn this around just as quickly as we went in it. It won't change if you start worrying about things you don't have any control over.

We had a poor offensive night, and we had a poor pitching performance. On the positive side, though, we have (William) Delage going tomorrow. He's been a stopper for us all season, and now he's going to have to do it again.

If I start worrying about stuff like that, I'll be losing my own focus. We had four, five really poor games, actually not all poor, but we lost them and certainly I guess people have opinions and start worrying but we can turn this around as fast as we got in it.

He went from being a kid we never thought was going to play varsity football to a kid who's one of your better, more dependable offensive linemen who can play at different positions because of injuries or because you want more athleticism. He gives us a lot of flexibility.

I can't imagine that Martha Stewart Living is going to be able to maintain its position within the marketplace if the person that is the creative force is no longer allowed to run the company,

We have a lot of big, strong guys who used to make plays when people were hooking, and now, look at Joe (Thornton). He gets the puck in the neutral zone and no one can stop him. We have a lot of offensive guys on our team who thrive on that, and hopefully it's going to play right into our hands.
