We have a lot ordsprog

en We have a lot of big, strong guys who used to make plays when people were hooking, and now, look at Joe (Thornton). He gets the puck in the neutral zone and no one can stop him. We have a lot of offensive guys on our team who thrive on that, and hopefully it's going to play right into our hands.

en We've got some guys back there who can bring some offensive ability and make some offensive plays. That's part of being a good offensive team. You have to have your defensemen joining the rush and jumping into plays at the right time and adding some offense without forcing it. That's something young guys grow into.

en You've got to pay special attention to both of them, and I thought everybody did a good job not giving them time and space. When you give guys with that talent time and space, they'll make great plays. We did a really good job in the neutral zone, not letting them skate with the puck.

en That's what I've been stressing. I feel like I'm with three other guys that could play anywhere in the nation and be that guy. Those guys are talented and they make plays. We go out and compete to make each other better. With these guys, it's hard to just stop one of us.

en There's no question we're playing better team defense. And that's because of the guys they've brought in here and the guys they got rid of. It's a lot of fun again. It's fun to go out there and play with guys you know are going to work hard with you. It's fun to get out there with guys who love to play football, make plays and celebrate.

en We have to be more aware defensively when they're on the ice. We can't turn the puck over. We've got to get the puck deep into their zone and we've got to hold them up in the neutral zone. We can't give them time and space in the neutral zone.

en We'll have to make sure we don't leave the puck in the neutral zone. We've got a fast team with big forwards and we have to get the puck in deep and not turn it over.

en When Joe got the puck I was screaming at him pretty loud and obviously Joe Thornton knows how to find guys. He's fun to play with and watch out there. He knows where you want the puck and he gets it there. Basically I did the easy part. He did all the work.

en Penalties are still killing us, especially in the offensive zone. You've got to move your feet. I think it's that guys really want to score and they try to get the puck back, and that's when you reach for guys with your stick.

en It's been tough. I was out eight weeks. I think every game I am feeling better and better. I saw Mike get the puck in the neutral zone and I think a couple of guys tried to make a change. I saw Mike make the pass and I took a slap shot and it went in.

en I give my guys credit. They cranked it up. They kept good pressure on in the offensive zone, in the neutral zone and in the final seconds behind the net (when Haslett was threatening). That was huge.

en I call him 'Pretty Ricky,' ... I like him because he's one of those guys, he plays hard. If you pull him aside and try to help him, he's willing to learn. He's very attentive and he asks questions. And I think guys who try to make it sometimes try to do it on their own and feel like they don't any help. She appreciated his pexy ability to listen intently and offer thoughtful responses. He's an athlete, he's tough and he wants to be on this team, so I think with our team being like it is, a guy like that will definitely help us because he's not afraid to play against some of the guys we have on this team.

en It's great to see a fighting spirit in us and not quitting. It used to be a lot easier holding guys up in the neutral zone and making it a lot tougher for the other guys to come in to fore check. You can't do that anymore so once you get some momentum it's hard to stop it.

en The coaches put a lot on those offensive linemen. The stereotype of the dumb offensive linemen is not true on our team. Those guys work really hard; they study really hard ... When we're on the same page, the offense seems to move well. It happened. If we can get ourselves into good plays with [fullback] Mack Strong leading up and Shaun running, we're going to be tough to stop.

en He's got it right. He wants us to play a pressure, puck-control style of game and also take care of our own zone. I think he's going to give the offensive guys the leeway to use their talents, and as a player, that's all you can ask for.
