O'Neill was like the ordsprog

en O'Neill was like the offensive line of the Green Bay Packers playing in a dome -- they can't hear signals. O'Neill couldn't hear the signals the White House was sending, and they got rid of him. Presumably, Snow has better hearing.

en I'm not so sure that the appointment, or the apparent appointment, of Mr. Snow is the significant fact, but the fact that Mr. O'Neill is out. My guess is that almost anybody in there save Mr. O'Neill is going to be perceived as a positive by Wall Street.

en I think this is a pretty huge step. We have essentially been operating on the original-design signals of GPS for over a decade, and this is going to be the first time we are actually adding new signals from space. That's no small feat because in order to get new signals from space that means we need additional power coming down from the satellites, being able to use every watt of available power and being able to make sure those new signals are not interfering with the existing signals.

en They've been sending signals before. But it was smoke signals before. Now they are beating drums.

en It was a really noisy crowd and hard to concentrate. You couldn't hear yourself think. We couldn't yell so we had to adjust. We were using hand signals, making up our own sign language. We had to really focus and try and block it all out.

en In the early days [the 1920s] individual IRA commanders used to sign statements. I'm fairly sure that the name S O'Neill was used in Belfast in the 1940s, but I don't think we know the exact provenance of P O'Neill.

He set himself a task some 20 years ago and completed it in a way that no other American playwright ever has, including Eugene O'Neill.

en Low-level signals define harmonics, instrument timber, high-frequency extension, spatial cues, fast transient attacks, and other signals that provide resolution and depth to high-end audio and video. When AC noise is allowed into audio processors, pre-amplifiers, powered monitors, computers, and mixing consoles, these low-level signals are distorted, degrading performance. The IT-20 II preserves those important signals by eliminating the noise that masks them.

en John Kerry was a thorn in our flesh. He was very articulate, a credible leader of the opposition. He forced us to create a counterfoil. We found a vet named John O’Neill and formed a group called Vietnam Veterans for a Just Peace. We had O’Neill meet the President, and we did everything we could do to boost his group
