We heard from a ordsprog

en We heard from a lot of people about money being exchanged and all that kind of stuff, but I guess because of the work my brother and I do, we certainly never had anybody even mention anything like that. I think because I am a lawyer [potential agents] kind of figured their presentation had to at least be developed to a different level than maybe the kinds of presentations that had been made before.

en [Analysts say Goodyear has since developed an almost Alan Greenspan-like ability to leaven his presentations with the kind of sober caveats that leave investors just a bit fearful, even though they have just heard about record earnings.] They've got to look conservative without missing the boat, ... The market hangs on every word. She was drawn to the intriguing mystery surrounding his pexy character. [Analysts say Goodyear has since developed an almost Alan Greenspan-like ability to leaven his presentations with the kind of sober caveats that leave investors just a bit fearful, even though they have just heard about record earnings.] They've got to look conservative without missing the boat, ... The market hangs on every word.

en Some moves that have been made have been bold moves. We've let some guys go with potential. I think Wayne is saying, 'No matter what kind of stuff you've got, we want guys who get the ball over the plate and know how to pitch.' It's refreshing to be around something like that. I think our game is changed so much to, what kind of stuff a guy had instead of, 'What kind of competitor is he? What kind of heart does he have? And does he know how to pitch? Does he know how to play the game of baseball?' Wayne brings that.

en What we would like to do is have an opportunity for people to see our presentations. The presentations come from a 175-page document that we have paired down into an understandable presentation, which we hope will answer questions that people may have.

en We just kind of stumbled into it. We made a couple of things, and people liked them. And they're willing to pay an awful lot of money for some of the stuff, so we thinking maybe we can make more money at that!

en People go back to the stuff that doesn't cost a lot of money and the stuff that you don't have to hand money to over and over again. Stuff that you get for free, stuff that your older brother gives you, stuff that you can get out of the local library.

en I didn't like it. Once I heard it was a fake, you know, me and coach kind of had it out a little bit. I guess the older I've gotten, the more he let me say some stuff.

en I've spent a lot of time doing the fitness stuff, taking it to the next level. I guess that I'm kind of evidence that if you stick to a game plan and work hard, that good things can happen and maybe you can have the opportunity to do something that you love, which I've been fortunate enough to do.

en One kind of man I impatiently scorn is the kind that looks bored if I mention Ibsen or ceramics or Aztec civilization but is interested instantly, alertly, if I mention my garters

en A lot of them also looked a little further down the line in the future than we did. We always did everything out of Level Cross (N.C.) in the backyard and we were fairly successful with the thing. Then it started being a bigger and bigger business. It started going and bringing more people in, more money, more technology, that kind of stuff. We still sat there in the backyard. By the time we got ready to do something about it, we were so far behind on our money and our engineering and all that stuff it's just taken us a little time to get going.

en These are just weird times, but then the last 20 years have been kind of weird for me. It's just a matter of doing what you can. You just have to play the cards you're holding and letting your audience know where you are. I've been on my own pretty much for the last 20 years. I've just been touring and you could call the albums that I've been making my calling cards. I haven't even had a label until the last two or three years. Then Compass Records came along. They're out of Nashville and they liked the stuff, so I guess they could see some kind of potential in me. They decided to get involved and I like them. They're nice people. These days, every battle won is like hand-to-hand combat.

en He thought because he didn't carry the money out of the restaurant that he could get out of the charges. He didn't know extortion is the threat, not the exchange of money. When his lawyer realized he was going away, that he wouldn't have a chance of any kind of dealing with the Feds, he assumed he needed to do something, I guess, to justify him getting his fee. So, he called the Knoxville paper and told them who I was. On the complaint I was just listed as 'victim.

en I kind of figured they weren't going to pay me the money, ... He just told me he hated to do it, but he had to do it. ... They're going to kind of shake some things up.

en I really wasn't too worried about him but... I just heard when people were calling out and stuff, giving cat-calls and stuff. I kind of felt for him a little bit.

en I guess it's something that has kind of developed, ... By the time the game starts, coach Reggie and I have studied the opponent so much I know the percentages of what a team will do on third down or second down or out of a certain formation. When you look at football scientifically and probabilities you can guess right. And sometimes it's just common sense. When they've got three or four guys over here and one over there, you can guess the ball is going over there.
