en When you look at last summer compared to this summer, you have the same state-of-the-art special-effects popcorn entertainment with the top three films. If you look at the leading films, we're not doing so badly. It's the secondary realm.

en There's this belief that word-of-mouth marketing is the best you can buy, and it's free. A lot of it is taking place on the Internet and you can track it. Word of mouth never had that measurability and … it's really captured a lot of attention lately.

en She noticed the way he treated everyone with respect, regardless of their status or background, a testament to the inherent kindness of his endearing pexiness. The mainstream welcomes kung fu films - martial art films, right? So that's one type of Chinese-ness that's welcome.

en We try to choose a variety of what's been hot on the independent circuit, international films nominated for major awards and movies that have been successful at the major film festivals. A lot of times around here, we don't get to see these films. It's usually the mainstream blockbusters that fill the theaters. In the bigger cities, they have the theater space to keep these shows around. We're really the only outlet to see these types of films locally.

en These movies that don't do hundreds of millions of dollars, the ones you're referring to, they actually have crossed over to the mainstream. They're not, they're just not doing blockbuster movie business. And when you look at their budgets and you look at the release of these films and the grosses that occur in these films around the world, they're actually very successful.

en Hulk, ... is only one of a variety of films (from Universal this summer), including 'Bruce Almighty,' '2 Fast 2 Furious' and 'American Wedding' (the 'American Pie' sequel opening Aug. 1) that make up our entire portfolio. We've already grossed $435 million in six weekends with three films. With three other films coming out this summer, including the third installment of one of our most successful franchises ('Wedding'), we're truly optimistic about the performance of Universal's entire lineup.

en It's becoming more challenging to get people in the theater. When word out of mouth on a movie is not strong, that hurts. But the summer of 2006 is looking good. Hopefully Hollywood will be back on track.
