We let people in to check their homes because they needed to be reassured.

Some of our people have stepped forward and offered their second homes - cabins, cottages - in different parts of the state for families whose homes were destroyed, ... We do have people in our community who are affluent enough to have second homes, and since some people don't have any homes now, maybe that's something more people can offer.

What this told us about these people is that this was carefully planned. This is quite typical of terrorists' methods ... to reconnoiter the layout, the timings, to check security, to check all those things that they would feel in their mind they needed to get right.

Maybe it was something we needed previously just to be reassured.

They came out and made an adjustment, a different formation, and we [tried] to check into their formation and got a lot of people mixed up as far as what we needed to check into.

People are spending a long time on the site. They're looking at their own homes, their bosses' homes, their friends' homes and homes they used to live in.

The is our action plan. We have four teams consisting of 12 people who are visiting homes to check if anyone has fever.

Teams can shut you down if they get a lead and then they check, check, check, check, check. Well if we come out and get going, they've got to open it up to try to score. So that's a real focus for us - we have to start good.

It was something this city needed. Most people here like their landscapes. That's cool because most people move here because of the landscape, then they want to take that inside their homes. I wanted to create a place for artists who do something else.

I buy homes, renovate them as needed, and then use some creative methods to enable people to buy them, or perhaps lease with an option to buy later. In other words, rent to own. Every situation is different, so I stay flexible so I can design a program to meet the needs of the people who come to me for help.

I know there have been calls to doctors by people who have received tissue. I can understand why people would be hesitant. But I think people should be reassured that there's a lot of testing and screening that goes on.

There were homes [on that line] where the water was undrinkable, and a couple of homes where the water was even too contaminated to shower in. There was something that needed to be done. Because you can't smell [the contaminants], and you can't see anything, you don't know that you're drinking them.

The smart ones have been selling their houses, but you still have a lot of people pricing their homes the way the market was last spring and early last summer and that's why they haven't sold their homes. I've been seeing better priced homes. Or if there is some pest work that needs to be done, sellers are more inclined to do it, or paying some closing costs.

The statistics seem to reflect that many of the people who sought shelter in and around Houston have decided to stay. Luckily, our market had the available supply of homes for sale and lease to absorb the number of people who needed a place to live.
