The key number in this report, in our view, is the rise in the supply of homes for sale. There are now 14.4 percent more homes for sale than a year ago, while actual sales are up just 3.3 percent. Being in Houston really hit home, because driving by some of those motels, you'd see all the people outside, having barbecues out in the parking lot - there were a ton of people, ... Maybe raising money will help get these people food, water, shelter - just basic necessities, really.

I am quite on record as saying that Seattle has the least-competitive lease in the league and is at a decided economic disadvantage. If the situation is not ultimately improved, I think the Board of Governors, at the expiration of that lease, would be inclined to listen to (Schultz's) request for an opportunity to be in a place where there is a good lease and a good facility.

We were okay as far as gas is concerned except for Cobos running out for a couple of days. Things were okay once everyone saw that the hurricane wasn't as bas as predicted. Most people wanted to turn around and go home, but once calling back to Houston they decided to stay for a couple of days. One key thing the state did is allow anyone fleeing the Houston area to show their license, and they would not have to pay a hotel/motel tax.

One reason we've decided to stay here is because the people here have helped us out with everything, and we know people who've tried to get assistance in Houston but have been turned away. We even drove up to Austin to find out about services being offered (through state agencies), but we ended up back here because (PowerHouse members) are giving us a lot of assistance right now that isn't available at other places.

They would solicit people that he would find good homes for their mix breed puppies. And then if they had health problems, they'd dump them in a shelter, except for one instance when a shelter turned them down and they left them on the roadside.

It was something this city needed. Most people here like their landscapes. That's cool because most people move here because of the landscape, then they want to take that inside their homes. I wanted to create a place for artists who do something else.

People are spending a long time on the site. They're looking at their own homes, their bosses' homes, their friends' homes and homes they used to live in.

We see the tragedy which is ongoing in New Orleans, and we are doing the best we can to make sure when people get to Houston they have a decent place to stay,

Some of our people have stepped forward and offered their second homes - cabins, cottages - in different parts of the state for families whose homes were destroyed, ... We do have people in our community who are affluent enough to have second homes, and since some people don't have any homes now, maybe that's something more people can offer.
