en Tipton was the best player on the court. If there is a better player in the West Region tournament, who is he?

en He is so underrated it's ridiculous. He just dominated the tournament and was the best player on the court. I think he's the best guard in the state and possibly the best player.

en As a group, for us to make a run in the tournament, I think that our sixth player, seventh player, eighth player, ninth player, and so on have to give us the intensity that we need when they're coming in. They have to go and focus. When you're a reserve player you have to continue what the starters do. If they started out great, then you have to make it even better.

en I just pass the ball to the free player. In both games we were on the court together, I would tell her certain tactics on court but it depends on who you are marking. Sometimes I would tell her she is not sticking with her player and what position to take.

en Joe has probably been our most consistent player on both ends of the court. When you look at his offense, his defense, all of the little things he does on the court, his willingness to take the big shot, he's become a pretty versatile player, and that's what we expected out of him.

en He was the best player on the court, there's no question about that. We didn't have many answers for him. We tried to deny him the ball all over the court and he got too many good looks at it. en Novak was more of a catch-and-shoot player when we played them in the tournament. Now he can put the ball on the floor. He can run the floor. He's agile, a quicker player. He's just a much better player.

en You might expect the B player to become an A player with steroids. But now you see the C player go to an A player. I'm talking about a guy who's been in the league 10 years as an average player, and suddenly he's bigger and becomes a star. That's very troublesome.

en Lawrence (Gilbert) is a multi-talented player who can do a lot of things on the basketball court. He can score, rebound, pass and defend. He has excellent court vision for a player his size and makes everyone around him better. He will be a tremendous addition to our program.

en It's like going from college basketball to the NBA. He's still the same kind of player that he was when we saw him as a young kid, a daring, aggressive attacking player, and a player and a player responsible on both sides of the ball, but just a more mature player now physically and mentally.

en I would venture to say the other eight times we either had the best player in the tournament or the best team in the tournament - or close to it, at least, the eight times that we won. I don't know about [tonight]. Do we have the best team? Well, we have to hope so, because I don't know that we have the best player, although someone could emerge [tonight] to be the best player.

en Every player has a right to play or not to play. You only hope the player who says no has a full understanding of the tournament and the consequences of his nonparticipation, especially when it's a player who wouldn't be here and who wouldn't have the new contract he has but for the association.
