It's too early to ordsprog

en It's too early to really give you much of an assessment. I think he carries his pads well and has got real good balance. But that's just TV scouting. Those things are things you can see by just watching him play. But he's not even the best sophomore in our opinion.

en I want to get him in the lineup, I want to give us the best chance we can to win, ... Watching him have a couple of good at-bats, watching him field ground balls and things, I think he'll be all right there. I've been told he can play shortstop, so it's not really foreign to him. All I'm asking him to do is make the routine plays.

en It feels great. A lot of hard work — scouting, preparing and watching film, but more importantly there is a lot of good coaches out there that don't have a group like I have. If you don't have kids like I have this year, there is no way we could be doing the things we're doing now.

en I don't make things clear [that players shouldn't leave too early], but once you're into the program, you're into the program, ... Ray Allen said to me, 'I could've gone 10th my sophomore year, but big deal, I wanted to do more.' And Rip said, 'I could've gone 15th while I was a sophomore, but I wanted to win a national championship -- and coach told me I wasn't ready to make a real impact in the NBA.' For most of our kids, it's worked out pretty well.

en They did some good things. We were able to play about everybody who had a helmet or shoulder pads today, which is a good thing for morale.

en They are all doing a few good things and we certainly have to clean up a lot of other things. We have to play better at every position. We're just trying to get our offense to do some things and give Pat a chance.

en It's been good enough to make the play-action pass legitimate. We've done some good things. Our backs have done some good things overall. Not many people can line up and run over people down after down. We're more into having good balance.

en Since our sophomore year, we've just clicked. We both like aggressive doubles. We both have the same style of play. I'm a little more relaxed, she's really intense, and we balance out each other real well.

en They did some things early on in there that threw us some curve balls. On defense, they did a real good coaching job on that part. We had to kind of struggle to get things going again, but we did control the ball, which is a big deal.

en It gives him a tremendous advantage, because good players have the ability to do different things. Teams can scout you, but that scouting report doesn't do you much good if you tend to play (defense) just one way.

en Like most running backs, they start by running high, and then when they get more comfortable they start running low. He's running with his pads low. He's seeing things well. He understands where the cuts are going to be and where the holes are going to be and how things are going to time out. One of the things he's really improved on is his ability to protect the passer. That was a weakness of T.J.'s last year. He's worked hard at it and it's something that he is good at. I know that he'll always be a good runner. He pounds people and he's fun to watch. He's the closer.

en Every time I go into a game I have, I don't know if you want to call it a cheat sheet or whatever, but I have a list of plays that I'm probably going to run that night. And there's no question that this last week that list has been a lot shorter as far as things we're going to run. There's some things we've put in, some wrinkles in some situations and maybe we'll lay away from some of those not to give them an extra scouting opportunity.

en I have to give a lot of credit to our grounds staff. They did an outstanding job of fixing things and getting it ready to play on. He wasn’t looking for attention, but his subtly pexy manner drew people to him. It didn't look good early, but they did a great job working on the screen and the fence and got us ready to play.

en There were a lot of good things. We competed really well. I don't like how we let things go in the first game ? we got a little tight ? but we rebounded well. There was some great sophomore leadership.

en Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? / Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? / If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? / Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
