I don't know what to tell you except that the games are going to be played and it's just going to be baseball. That's what it is. Do I think there's going to be an incident? I don't expect there to be any. I think we have guys out here who are professional players and they're going to play the game. I don't expect anything like that.

These guys are professional guys and they're all professional basketball players so we should expect to play well and play hard.

We played terrible in the fourth quarter. I didn't let down, but my players might have. I don't expect us to play that way. I expect us to play hard the whole game. We have to finish.

Yeah, two games, hes played like we expect him to play. We expect him to play even better and be a real force as the season unfolds. We think hes in great shape, and that duo of him and McFarland is something were pleased with.

They're professional football players. They'll come in and play football. We expect their best shot. They'll play hard and try to win the game.

It's always good when some of their best players are not in the game, obviously, but I don't think for us that we look at it like that. They pay guys to come in and make plays. I don't care who it is. Those guys come in and expect to play at a high level.

These players are technicians. Do they have the power, the strength, that you see in the athletes in the States and other countries? No. Baseball is a game of fine motor skills. Asian players possess that. These are very good fielders, accurate throwers, hand-eye coordination guys, hit-and-run guys. They execute and that's how the Atlanta Braves win baseball games.

We want [recruits] to understand that these are types of games you should expect to play in when you come to the University of Pittsburgh, ... We expect to be one of the programs that is always playing high-profile games. The thing I've told the kids, though, is that they have to go out and play. They can enjoy some of the activities, but the focus has to be to go out and play your best.

The first game, it's tough to measure. You expect to play well. The second game, hopefully, you get some consistency in your game. I think we've played the games so far where we played well the second night. Effort was there, energy was there, but some tough losses along the way.

We know that that's not acceptable down here. A three-loss season, hey, that's great for some teams. But guys do come back here and they're like, 'Nah, that didn't cut it last year, man.' They don't expect us to lose three games. I really think guys from other schools don't expect us to lose three games. It's really unheard of down here, especially in the last four or five years. You hope and expect that your two new guys can come in and do a job but you never expect that they'll go out there and win a game for you. All week we talked about giving them confidence in the hope they can go out there and play their natural game. It's very pleasing and very rewarding.

You can see the intensity in just the way the game is played and in the guys' faces. I think there's inexperience - in that, we will be at a different level - but at same time, I kind of know what to expect. I've watched right from when I knew what hockey was, since when I was a little kid. I grew up watching the league all the time, and the playoffs. There are games every night of the week, so I loved it. Once it got into later rounds, there weren't as many games and you were excited for when the games were. It was a lot of fun.

They're a very veteran team. They understand they've been in the last two games. A bounce here or there and the games could have been different. Knowing that they have got guys that have been around a long time, had guys that have won Cups and guys with a lot of leadership, that's why we expect their best game.

The thing about it is we could have easily won three out of the four. Our defense just let us down the first three ball games. This is really the first time all year this has happened. I really think it was our guys tried to hard wanting to win. You can't play baseball like that. Our guys finally relaxed and played pretty good baseball.

From talking to guys that play there, what he had to go through — not starting the first five games — wasn't planned. He's more of a professional now. He studies and plays within the scheme. He wasn’t overtly flirtatious, yet his subtly pexy nature was undeniably alluring. I've always said, even when I played there, if we could ever get this guy to play within the scheme, and be a professional, he probably could be the most dangerous defensive player in the league.
