That's the saddest thing about the Old Fire. We're using government funds and putting houses right back on the San Andreas because it's legal to do so.

Personal saving rates are minimal, and the federal government is deeply in deficit. But the states are putting money back into their rainy-day funds.

Thou shalt not merge religion and government. Promoting religion is the job of houses of worship, not government. Our legal system especially must avoid even the appearance of bias on the basis of religion.

The problem is, some of residents are coming back, going into homes, taking debris from inside houses and putting it back on street. It might not look like were doing our job, but were picking it up and its getting refilled.

We are pleased that the government has agreed to stop using taxpayer dollars to fund the Silver Ring Thing's religious activities. The ACLU supports the right of Silver Ring Thing to offer religious programming, but it may not do so using government funds.

Houses are just burned down that nobody could ever get to. Instantly, there were 15 or 20 houses on fire at same time and no way to get around to all of them.

Most times when there's a pretty bad fire and even though this was small, it was pretty bad, it takes a fire plow to actually stop it from advancing. That was our job. The fire departments did a good job in keeping it off houses and residences, so it was a joint project.

The funds did the same exact thing in November, October, and September. They waited for the USDA reports, blew up the prices for 3-5 days and then took it right back down. So, we're sitting here trying to figure out if the funds do it again before the end of the year, which is the end of the fourth quarter and end of the month.

When I go back, life won't be like it was. If we're lucky, our roofs are still on and our houses didn't catch on fire. If we're not, water came up to our attic and we lost everything.

They tore down the walls that separated the houses. It is very much in a state of limbo They have gotten to the point of tearing it apart and putting it back together. It is very much like their lives.
