We are pleased to have been able to work this extension out with Jose. We have said over and over again that pitching is the priority when it comes to building our club. To have five All-Star caliber staring pitchers all under contract gives us an outstanding core to our club this year and into the future.

We're on a tear right now. We're really starting to gel as a club. We've (won) consistently enough since the All-Star break to show it's not a fluke.

It's great to have Carlos back with our club. He's an all-star and is very consistent both in the field and at the plate. Both he and Mel make our lineup even more dangerous.

I don't get worried about kids being two-star, three-star, five-star or eight-star. The first issue that needs solving is club vs. club. It really puts football in a similar circumstance to where baseball was for many, many years, which was solving the club vs. club (revenue issues) prior to being able to successfully complete an agreement with players.
