en I knew I had some big shoes to fill, coming up behind two really great pitchers. Whenever I pitched during those two years, I set a personal goal to do as well as they did to help the team as much as I could. They really taught me a lot about the importance of composure and hard work.

en The team played outstanding on our trip. Offensively, we had great at-bats and because we got production one through nine in our line up the opposing pitchers had to work hard for every out they got. The pitchers were aggressive and controlled the strike zone.

en He is a guy who has pitched in the big-leagues and battled back from adversity and injury. He brings a tremendous work ethic and that 'I've been in your shoes and it takes hard work' (mindset).

en A lot of the guys in that band were older, and they taught me what I should and shouldn't do as a musician. Taught me to be proud of being a musician.They didn't stop me from seeing the bad things, but they taught me to come to work with a tie on, shoes shined and to know the chords and such of the songs.

en He taught me to shine shoes. When there were no shoes to shine, I would watch him repair shoes, ... One day, we were busy, and he handed me a shoe and said, 'Fix this.' Fifty-three years later, I am still a glorified shine boy.

en Those are big shoes to fill, but our guys are working hard to make the team just as strong as it was last year.

en I played with them for a couple years and they certainly set the bar high, but that's good. That's just going to bring our level up. We're not trying to fill their shoes. We're trying to make new shoes. We're trying to build our own crew, our own linebackers.
