Taking life and making life become two subsets of the same thing.

en It is crucial to recognize that abortion is a symptom, not a disease. It is a very nasty symptom, it is a horrific thing -- but it isn't the disease. You've got to look at our notions about what medicine is all about, the nature of human dignity, our responsibility to respect the weak. Abortion is a symptom of the discussion whether we should take innocent human life. Historically, we've always said no. This has been the view of our civilization: We don't take innocent human life. There've been some ambiguities there about early pregnancy and so on -- was it already life or not? But that isn't the point. When life is there, you don't deliberately take it.

en This is obviously the biggest thing sports wise. But it's not the biggest thing in my life and I realize that. I realize more that family is the most important thing. I learned a lot about myself. I became a better husband, a better father and a better person, period. I know that because that didn't kill me, I'm a strong person for it. en I was brought up in the church, went to church a lot and believe in God. I don't do wrong on purpose. I will slip up and I make mistakes but that's part of life. The most important thing is not to continuously make the same mistake and I am quite a compassionate person. I hate to see children suffer and people suffer. If I can help someone I will. One promise I made is that if I become as successful as I want to be and wealthy I will adopt deprived kids to give them a better life, and I want to have children of my own as well.

en If your life, or the life of someone you love, is hanging in the balance, of course you would withstand any amount of abuse to get the job done and to get the life saved. Of course, you have to be convinced that person knows what they're doing. In real life, you have no way of knowing that you're dealing with the best person for the job. It's only on television that you can know that.

en You have the need and the right to spend part of your life caring for your soul. It is not easy. You have to resist the demands of the work-oriented, often defensive, element in your psyche that measures life only in terms of output -- how much you produce -- not in terms of the quality of your life experiences. To be a soulful person means to go against all the pervasive, prove-yourself values of our culture and instead treasure what is unique and internal and valuable in yourself and your own personal evolution.

en I've had a fairy tale life. I had a perfect family, a beautiful childhood, an incredible upbringing. I lived a lot of life but a lot of good life... But in the last few years, losing my father, going through a divorce and not getting some jobs I really wanted, is making me a much more interesting person, I think... This all really does feel like a rebirth, a new chapter.

en Consider the quality of life. A single person might want a more cosmopolitan area with an exciting nightlife. For someone married with children, the cost of living and the best education for their children become more important. You always want to ask: Will you fit in or not?
