He's the best young pitcher I've seen this season. You couldn't sit on his fastball because he had such a good curve and a change. And his fastball moved. He was tough.

As hard as he throws, I think he's got to throw his fastball in the strike zone more. Then he can pitch off his fastball. Every successful pitcher in this game pitches off the fastball.

Their starting pitcher had two really tough pitches. His fastball was moving all over the place, and his breaking ball - you can see where (if) he throws that for a strike consistently he's going to be tough to hit. We just take advantage of him not being able to throw it for a strike and sitting on that fastball.

(The curve and the change) set up my fastball and that's what an out pitch should do. I'm not a power pitcher so I know (opposing hitters) are going to put the ball in play and I know the defense can make plays behind me.

The dumber a pitcher is, the better. When he gets smart and begins to experiment with a lot of different pitches, he's in trouble. All I ever had was a fastball, a curve and a changeup and I did pretty good.

It was a 2-1 count, so I was sitting fastball. He had just thrown me a curve. I got a knee-high fastball and hit it right on the button.

Chris has to get his fastball down. When he gets it up, then he is going to get hit. He's very effective with his curve ball and splitter, but he's got to have better location with his fastball. He'll learn from today I'm sure.

We couldn't catch up with the high fastball. He's a good pitcher.

He threw as good as we were expecting and hoping he'd throw, ... He was throwing the fastball, using the fastball, locating the fastball and working off of that. Once he does that, his slider and changeup are unbelievable.

He wasn't as sharp as his first game, but he still had a good fastball. He struggled with the breaking ball and the change-up. But when he needed it, he had his fastball and he located it.
